I do some gear sells/sound system installs on the side. Have for years with dealerships mainly with St Louis Music>Loud Tech now, Voodoo Labs, Pedaltrain. Nothing really big. Out of nowhere I get a call from Eventide (or so they said, caller ID agreed) asking me to put Mod Factor and whatever the other pedal is in stock. The discount was good. The guy started pressuring me to put them on my credit card, I said I'd think about it. He calls back, I ask about an Eclipse, he says he'll ask, they don't really get right on the price for it so I say no to the whole deal. He calls back agin trying to get me to buy the stomp boxes on my CC, I say no. Hours later he calls again, I just lifted the phone and hung it back up. I was telling another guy I know who sells gear about this and he said it might have been a scam because they kept pushing to get my CC number. I didn't even think about that at the time. It is funny as I have NEVER contacted Eventide one time asking to be a distributor, he just called me out of the blue. Has anyone here ever been aproached like this?

FYI, you can reverse search a phone # on 411.com ;)

Yup.

I remember when you'd get a bill in the mail from a company you never did business with. They figured the bill went to the hire hand to pay bills and they wouldn't even think the bill was a phony. Scams have been around for ages maybe always will.
