Is that how you spell recipie??

Anyhow, i'm sick of Manwich. Every other saturday, the band comes over for recording, drinks and some munchies. Not to mention people just dropping in. I always put food out. Mom used to make the best Sloppy joes from scratch but I never got her recipie. Anyone still do it from scratch??

Recipe. No "ie" at the end. Only "e".

As with any good (I guess that's a relative term) Sloppy Joe recipe, don't forget the meat. Otherwise, you'll have all Sloppy and no Joe.:D

Just go to www.foodnetwork.com (http://www.foodnetwork.com) and do a search. You will be able to choose between chef recipes and average Joe recipes.

Wow. This is the second thread I have seen today where the "grammar police" have issued citations.

Isn't there a grammar forum somewhere?

Anyway....

I usually go to food network first and dig out from there. However, you have given me a hankerin' for the Sloppy Joes!!! (Take that grammar nazis....).

I think that was spelling rather than grammar, and he asked :D

.

He asked...I answered. And it's spelling, not grammar. As was pointed out.

Maybe an attention and comprehension police thread is in order.:rotflmao

My mom's recipe was just ground beef plus ketchup, mustard and pickle relish. Sounds overly simple but she was a very good cook and was accustomed to spending hours on very complicated dishes, so I don't think her Sloppy Joe recipe was simple for simplicity's sake.

I like Manwich. What are they adding that gives it the tart taste, is it vinegar? Whatever it is, I dig it.

Best Sloppy Joe's you'll ever have north of Key West,Florida

1 1/2 lb ground beef - browned and drained
1 bottle Chili Sauce (12oz)
(spend the extra few cents and get Heinz)
1/4 cup brown sugar (light or dark)
2 Tbls white vinegar
1 teaspoon salt

Mix all the ingredients in dutch oven or similar and simmer 1/2 hour
They taste even better the next day, but you probably won't have any left.

You can garnish with chopped onions and shredded cheese-but try them plain first
