I bought one of these for a dollar.

http://www.philseed.com/images/fiat-600-d.jpg

Engine was locked up. Pushed it up and down the driveway poping the clutch hoping it would break free. One test report said it was timed at 0-60Mph in just under two minutes!

Had one of these throughout college... Broke down all the time but the college girls loved it more than my friend's new Porsche. Mine was Navy Blue with a white interior.

http://www.westsidecruisers.com/Pictures/2004/20040509_Ekeberg/1973%20Buick%20Centurion%20convertible_1.jpg

Had one of these for awhile, too. BMW's seem to grow on you. Great car.

Tweed, I had that exact silver '85 Escort sans racing stripes. I abandoned it on the side of the road after the timing chain went out. I also had a 78, and '83 Chevette. The '78 I used to jump this railroad crossing on my way to the Knut Koupee guitar shop.

Not the best but very unique.
1988 Subaru XT6. All wheel drive, flat six engine, air suspension, electric power steering, one wiper blade and a whole lot of other oddities.
The air suspension was electronically controlled. When you started the car it automatically rose a few inches. The faster you drove the lower the car would go.
The electric power steering was also driving condition sensitive. Normal driving would make it feel like ordinary power steering but if you started driving down a winding road the steering would get a little tighter giving it more of a sporty feel.
It had one HUGE wiper blade that covered both sides of the windshield.

I think mostly all of them have a little bit of Satan in them. Not really a car you can drive and forget about, its a car you gotta stay on top of. It's one of those cars where you got to be a bit different to like them, just like classic Saab 900s. A Sierra Cosworth would be sweet. I was at the Nurburgring in August and I was admiring an Escort Cosworth until someone hit it in the parking lot...

My top rotted off long ago, never saw a reason to get another one. But now I gotta get a new tarp. Dang, those puppies 'r over ten bucks!

Nice cool breeze comes thru the driver's floor pan, the seats have auto tilt-backs, and you can just reach in and work on the wiring--both wires. 100k+ miles. :)

So what's this thing about ironing that I win?

Oh yeah, Kraco cassette AM/FM and two Realistic speakers--did you know you can dump rainwater out of 'em and they still sound jus' boss?

My 1st car was a '74 Honda Civic, like the one in the picture, but all white with a racing stripe:NUTS(I kid you not). Oh, and left-hand drive, of course. Throw in a broken aftermarket Motorola AM/FM stereo radio, rear windows wired shut due to broken latches, and a busted odometer that stopped turning after 103,000 miles or so, and you have a stereotypical "1st car":p.

I had an '80 Citation as my first car. Sweet ride. I remember I was dating a girl in high school who asked me why it was called the X-11; I told her it had 11 cylinders and she believed me. We broke up not long after that.

http://i127.photobucket.com/albums/p132/n-j-/x11-1980.jpg

Up next was a Civic hatchback, just like the Tweed's except grey. I loved that car, I'd rock another one given the chance.

Much later I got a '78 Chevette, again like Tweed's, but super clean old lady condition with only 36K miles. I drove it for two years and made $400 when I sold it.

http://i127.photobucket.com/albums/p132/n-j-/02.jpg

This was my gf's car up until the head gasket went. Plastic and shipping tape windows, duct tape on the bumpers, sagging shocks, no fan, almost no heat. It sat in front of our house looking like this all winter. Ahh, Minneapolis.

11 cylinders huh? Her Dad probably made her stop seeing you. :bong

You've had some truly beautiful cars ........ *sniff* Those Chevettes were tough as nails !!! You could drive along about 50 mph, then kick it into passing gear as you slam it in reverse, and I'll be darned if the thing didn't skid to a stop and then start backing up with an urgency

There are a few I don't have pictures of but are worthy of a mention:

B. 1974 Ford Pinto Wagon :bong

3. 70s Honda CVCC

1993 Mitsubishi Diamante
1986 Mitsubishi Montero 2 door (best truck ever)
and I've owned about 13 motorcycles

Of the cars I've owned, none would go into the truly cool category. I owned a '73 Mustang for a while, which might sound cool but it was a rusty brown sedan with a 6 cylinder. The first car I ever bought with my own money was a Datsun 1200, which I liked a lot. Over the years I've driven plenty of doggy econoboxes, including a Gremlin, and two Pacers (none of them mine), a Plymouth Horizon (great mileage) and a Camry that was a really nice car when it was made but was rusting in a field when I acquired it for free. Here's a Datsun 1200, same model and color as mine:

'82 Toyota Starlet...carbuerated, vacuum lines controlling EVERYTHING. Made almost 70hp, could only spin the tires in the rain or snow. Rear wheel drive so donuts in the snow were a breeze. I loved it and drove it until the clutch disappeared.

Mine was raw silver...nasty, rusty, perfect.
