It has come to my attention that we MAY have a disproportionately high percentage of Crusty Old Humorless Buggers on this site, when compared against general population statistics.
I'd like to submit a grant request to the Kwakkleberry Foundation and General Think-tank to request funds for further study of this interesting phenomena.
If you are a Crusty Old Humorless Bugger, please inform us of your condition, and how advanced you believe your condition to be in.
In the interest of science and the advancement of useless statistics, I thank you.

Kids can be on my grass anytime.. It's the old farts that can't keep their cars on the street and F up my grass that piss me off!
I had to edit my Seuss avatar because of some humorless people here.

As I get older I can be easily pushed over the edge into crustyness..especially by ignorance.

I'd call myself generally pissy but with a sense of humor mixed in there somewhere.

I have a great sense of humor. I just don't like the young guns acting like I did when I was their age.

The lack of respect for the musician's who came before one's time pisses me off. There are those who dismiss anything not of their generation, or think a certain artist invented a style without making even a cursory effort to find out who that artist was inspired by, and so on.
Creating a scene doesn't help but the Ignore List is growing.

I'm actually more crispy than crusty. My lawn is crispy too. The kids on my lawn
seem to be from another planet. They don't know what a Marshall is.

I can admittedly get pretty crusty. I do however see my younger self in a few people here and understand that the definition of humor does change with age. Many of the 40ish folks here would have to agree that something that was incredibly funny when they were 12 just isn't any more. That continues as you get to my age (62).
While I have absolutely no problem with "teh Doctor's" humor, toilet "humor" just isn't funny to me any more. And I have more problem with the neighbor who lets his dog crap on my lawn and not pick it up than I do with kids.....except for the little punks who knocked over my grandchildrens snowman the other day.

It's much easier to refer to them as BOF's...

I believe in truth in advertising and I post this occasionally when looking for bandmates:
Grumpy Old Rhythm Guitar and/or Bass Player Seeks Others for Classic Rock and Blues
Mostly intermediate player (with short term and continuing memory loss) looking for opportunity with players of similar interests and ages (45 to 60) for 60's/70's covers (okay, newer stuff if necessary) and blues.
Need player/singers to make a band.
I don't want to run a band but to be part of a group.
Interested in playing out for fun and perhaps some extra cash but not in a hurry.
Pro gear, amateur attitude ... cannot sing a note so don't ask!
Expect to practice twice a week.
If this sounds like fun and you can deal with and dish out cynicism, sarcasm and general contrariness, this may be for you.
If you take yourself too seriously or expect me to do the same, this may not be for you.
And I already have a logo for a bass drum head ...
