I mean, I love all kinds of cheese. Today its a cheapie port wine on Cream Cheese and Chives Wheat Thins and the Asiago Cheese and Roasted Vegetable Crackers by Sams Choice.

Go Jets.... love Nashville, Dislike Jeff Fischer.

Because it follows the standard rules of food. If it's bad for you, it rocks! Alone, with something, as an additive to a recipe, it's pretty much all good. i can't think offhand of any cheese that I don't like....other than music by Air Supply.

I dunno, but I love it, too...nearly all kinds except blue cheese. I got really sick after eating that once and I'll never touch it again.

it is an amazing substance. so versatile, it goes with every meal, generally makes any dish more tasty and has so many varieties that you can never get tiered of it. I feel so bad for my Brother-in-Law he was just diagnosed lactose intolerant. I don't think I would want to live w/o cheese, it is just too good.

that port wine cheese is some good stuff by the way especially on wheat thins it was like they were made to go together.

Whats wierd for me is what cheese I eat has to be WITH something..in a dish..Cheeseburger etc. I can't eat it by itself..never could.

The FAT has a lot to do with it. I remember reading a study somewhere finding that the fat in cheese (and some other foods) may actually be addictive.

Nah, that's not weird at all. Cheese can make the meal or the snack, but I don't think it makes a good meal or snack on it's own. I'm with you.

I don't like cheese. I don't like the way it looks, the way it smells and especially the way it tastes. I've never liked it - even as a child, I gagged on it.

I understand this is an odd thing not to like. I've only ever met two other people in my life who felt the same way.

Frommunder cheese is awesome, but is so hard to find in large quantities.

Cheese is great, although I wish it was easier to get more unpasteurised cheese round here. I like a good Roquefort, shropshire blue or caboc on oatcakes

I'm getting hungry now

I love cheese! Hated it as a child and it took me years to figure out why. My parents always bought the super sharp stuff.

I love most cheeses. Some alone, some with other things. The only blue I can eat is Stilton. And then in very small doses. Wine, cheese and fresh baked bread is a meal in itself!

YES! OMG! Expensive, but damn! A few years ago, the local store had it for like $18 a pound. They laid some samples out, which I stood there eating until I felt like I'd better move on before someone told me to LOL A mother or three later, not much had sold, so they dropped the price way down to like $6-7 a pound. I bought pounds of it until it was gone. Now it's back at $18 again, so I wait patiently LOL

For lovers of stinky cheese who can splurge, search out Eppoises. Its from Burgundy (France) and it is really aromatic. In fact, my wife won't let me bring it in the house becuase its really pungent. So when she goes to visit her parents in Florida, I get to indulge. Let it get soft at room temperature, and spread it on crusty bread and it's unreal.

I remember reading a study somewhere finding that the fat in cheese (and some other foods) may actually be addictive.

I remember hearing somthing like that too.

In the movie "Supersize me" they were talking about the addictive qualities of Macdonalds food and how a kids mind is no match for the cravings to it. (sugar, fat, etc..)

As for favorite cheeses, my brother in law works for a food processing plant where they make flavorings. Lots of thier work involves real cheeses. He gets this White Cheddar thats just unbelievable. He always gets me a few pounds of it for the holidays.

Also, about 8 miles from my house, there is a cheese factory. Every 3rd weekend of the month, they open the factory and sell cheese curds straight from the vat. Now thats addictive!

My plan when I moved to SC was to start a goat farm for the purpose of making cheese. I still may do that in the future and maybe sooner than later.

I do love cheese. All kinds. I keep a small selection kicking around at all times.

Scored some Herve Mons this weekend and a downstate dairy called Sweetgrass that has a new line out. I have some Stilton, Wenslydale and Red Dragon (yum!).

Homemade French onion soup was starter last night with a big chunk of gooey baked gruyere of course on top.

Don't y'all have deep fried cheese curds up there in Wisconsin as well?
Man those things are like eating gummy bears but instead of tasting sweet they taste like fat and salt!

Oh ya!! Deep fried Mozzarella sticks too. I guess the big hit at State fair this year was deep fried Mac and cheese on a stick! They had the guy that was selling it on the radio and he's going on and on about how awesome they are and he adds, "and they're really healthy for you" Followed by laughter!

It is it's own food group. I can live without fruits and vegetables, I can't survive a day without cheese.

Red Dragon, with the mustard seeds? That's very nice.

I also love: Comte, St Andre (only on rare occasions, that is like eating butter!); aged Gouda (one bite of which will insure that you never again waste calories on that bland junk in the red wrapper that used to pass for Gouda); Red Hawk from Cowgirl Creamery; Aged Cheddars, fresh and smoked Mozzarella, and on and on....

Yeah Red Dragon is the English mustard ale cheese. That stuff melted on a kaiser roll with a sausage of your choice and a pint of Speckled Hen....:banana

Gotta agree with this... My wife thinks I'm crazy. I'll put cheese on just about anything.

I'll buy a couple of pounds of sliced provolone from the deli and just grab a few slices any time of day. I also buy the 4 lb bags of shredded mozzarella and cheddar jack from Costco. I can't pass the fridge without grabbing a handful or so.

A couple of slim jims, a few slices of provolone and a beer = heaven for me.

Our local pizza guy knows my M.O., extra sauce, extra, extra cheese...

Did I mention that I love cheese?

I can't wait for the holiday Port Wine cheese balls to start surfacing!! Nice in the tub spread version as well!!

Here are some other faves, both better with a nice Cab or red blend/Meritage.
