There is only one game on TV right now in my area -- SF vs Dallas. That's all I get to choose from? Out of all the football that is going on right now, that's it? Is this to get me to pay more for a football package of some sort? (I have Dish Network.) What happened to Sunday mornings and the plethora of games?

I have your game and the jets v titans. So I get 2 games now and one in the afternoon and then one at night.

Thats enough football for me. I wish the thursday games were year round too.

Sounds odd. Here in England, Sky Sports had a choice of several games. Not my thing and there was Premier league football on the next channel so I didn`t watch but it was on.

Since the Lions (:barf) can't sell out their home games and are blacked out all we have here is Jets, Titans.
Tampa's smackin' them anyway..big surprise :jo

Have the Bears/Rams here (as always) and Browns/Texans.
Waiting patiently for the Giants/Cards.

It has to do with your home market....which I expect is that of the 49ers. Today is Fox's day for the doubleheader game, so CBS gets to pick from one game and will typically not air that one game in competition with the game of the home market.

Same deal here. Right now, here the only game available is the Vikings/Jacksonville. After it is over, there are two games...one each on Fox and CBS.

By the way...Dish Network has no NFL package, so no...it is not to get you to pay more. If you want the NFL package, there is only one place to get it. DirecTV.

As for a "plethora" of games. The most you will ever get at any one time is two. Unless you DO have NFL Sunday Ticket. So, I'm not sure what "plethora" you are talking about.

I haven't watched football in quite a while. I just remember growing up that it seemed like there were at least 3-4 games on at a time on the different networks.

Not really. The AFL/AFC was on one network, the NFL/NFC was on another. This does not take into account the night games on...over the years...ABC, NBC, ESPN and the NFL Network. But on Sundays, there pretty much has only been only one or two games on at any given time.

NFL broadcast rights have always been handled very specifically regarding the two conferences, and the broadcast rules have always been in place to protect the home team's market.

Good pats/fins game. Smash mouth, physical football on both sides. Tons of offense, nice plays, back and forth scoring, ejections.....exciting game.
