Did a search but the search engine she don't work so good. The band has that retro 70s/80s thing goin for it and that guitarist rips.

Total Zep Copy.

The singer even dresses, moves, hair, sounds, etc etc like RP.

Not bad tho, must admit I did enjoy it, just not very original.

Interesting for a song or two, don't think I could take a whole show. They do have a kind of Zepplin like sound to them, but without the talents of the originals.

I thought this was going to be about a local classic rock cover band in this area that goes by the name of The Answer. http://www.theanswertoclassicrock.com/WelcometotheAnswer.htm They are, to me, the epitome of everything you dislike about cover bands; but they keep extremely busy and play just about every where in So Cal where anybody is having live music. It seems everyone else picks up their scraps. I couldn't believe they'd be on Letterman, or that there would be a thread about them on TGP. But lo and behold, there is another "The Answer" out there. I don't even know what the question was. But I'm getting tired of all these guys out there thinking they are the answer to it.

"Kind of"?

I really don't mind their absolutely unabashed Led Zep sound. Great to hear. Amazing they ended up with a blond Geddy Lee lookalike. Anyway, I thought it was great.

I switched over from watching David Cook on Leno and caught the last 15 seconds of the Answer.

Cook's band sounded processed; The Answer had the hard rock vibe and sounded huge.

However, their song writing doesn't grab me, and I'm not sure I dig the lead singer's vocal tone. But they do a lot of things right . . . hope they continue to develop.

First thing I thought was Led Zepplin. But appear to do it well with youthful vigor, and it's not like LZ never 'ripped anyone off'.

Geez another band ripping off the Zeppelin schtick

Combination of Zep, Joe Cocker and the band that did that song "Cult of Personality".

Hey at least some younger guys are rocking.

Come to think of it, those are some pretty good influences they're pulling from.

The Answer has won lots of awards in England. They've apparently been around for a while, and that song is the lead track off an album entitled "Rise", done about two years ago. The rest of the album is quite good, and they make no apologies for being a rock band. Very straight ahead and pure. I'm a fan!

Also check out Roadstar, who have sadly broken up from signing the worlds worst managment deal. Different but similar. Also a fan!

I dig them. Nice raw sound with obvious influences but it seems pretty genuine. If you listen to their EP out at Amazon, you'll see not all of the songs are as Zep influenced.

Another band that interested me as an opener for the Foo Fighters was Yearlong Disaster. The vocals could be a tad better (tough to discern some time) but many they rocked for a 3-piece. The lead singer/guitarist is the son of Dave Davies I think (from the Kinks). Anyhow, there are some pretty cool rock bands trying to break in.
