First I saw a float at the NYC Thanksgiving Day parade in the shape of a Les Paul and then during the Cowboys halftime the Jonas Brothers were playing on a Les Paul shaped stage.

I guess this explains the reason behind the recent price hikes on nearly all models of their guitars. :dunno

If they have to use pitch correction to perform live, they need to find another line of work :messedup ..... or find a frontman who can sing :dunno

I was very disappointed in that float. I thought it could've been set-up a LOT better. The cheaper floats were as good, if not better.

I was surprised to find out that Darius Rucker is now a country music star. When did that happen?

Gibson has always been a marketing machine. I realized that years ago when I was on a long flight somewhere. One magazine had an Apple ad on the back cover with a photo of a 335 (headstock intact, where it would be brushed out if a deal hadn't been made).
Someone had left one of those luxury-living magazines and the first ad I saw was a half-page Gibson ad run behind a whole different ad campaign than the one we see in the guitar mags... along the lines of "Show them you've made it to the top..."
So I finish reading and decide to watch the movie. For some reason a giant toddler is walking down the Las Vegas strip and stops for about 5 seconds, standing next to the giant Gibson headstock on a LP-shaped sign in front of a casino.
This all happened within a half-hour, and I hadn't even opened anything guitar-related.
