View Full Version : What national restaurants do a good turkey, stuffing, gravy, type of deal?

This was the first year where Thanksgiving wasn't the same. I am used to eating leftovers for days, but this year my grandmother who makes thanksgiving dinner was in the hospital and was sent home a few days before Thanksgiving, but was unable to cook. So, it was just a little dinner, and no leftovers.

I am drooling reading all the forums about Turkey.

So, what national chains do it right?

Chains rarely do anything "right" LOL If I had a leftover turkey jones, I'd try Boston Market. I have never been there, but it looks like a decent attempt at home style food on TV.

boston market is pretty terrible around here, I got sick there once. I imagine in theory it should be the ticket. I agree with you, the chains fail most likely.

Well, I was just thinking they might be the only place that might have turkey and dressing after T-day. They have things like that all the time. Not many other places would at all.

Of course if you can cook, you can get turkey parts at the grocery store, and some stovetop dressing (if you don't want to go to all of the trouble), and it'd be about as good as Boston Market, eh?

most likely, its kind of an odd day. No leftovers, potentially cooking a Tgiving dinner the day after, thinking about food chains for turkey, weird.

Hello,

This is not a suggestion for a national chain, but I would try whatever diners are in your area. Diners often have a turkey dinner on the menu and often it's decent. In L.A. for example I often get the Thanksgiving special at Canter's.

Hope you find something that satisfies!

Kevin

Great suggestion! They probably serve hot open faced turkey sandwiches with dressing and gravy!

The diners we have around here are places such as dennys. Bummer. I have never seen a diner and did a search for one and couldn' locate any.

We only have a couple here. One is one of the best greasy spoons ever. I'd guess they have some stuff left over. Try grocery store delis, too. Our local grocer will likely have some stuff going as well. Good luck. Or, you could just go get some good Mexican. Get something so good it makes you forget about it :D

thats true I might just do the 100% opposite, get some mexican and move on. Good call.

K & W or Golden Corral.

K&W is all about the baked spaghetti and the ONLY things worth eating at GOCO is fried chicken and mac n' cheese.

I tried so hard to get to a good place today, traffic was hell. I went to the easiest place I could get to and that was fridays and was like a terrible diner. I hate wasting money.

Cracker Barrel is as good as it gets for the chains.

dude just go get a turkey breast & some stuffing mix. Takes about 1/2 the time as a whole turkey & you're set for dinner plus the leftovers =)

Do they have Kenny Rogers Roasters near you?

Does that even still exist? (it's been a while since I lived in the south)

I heard Lubys does.

Luby's is pretty regional (mostly Texas). The only ones I have ever seen were in Texas (about 50 of them) and Oklahoma (2), but their website says Arkansas (1), Arizona (1) & Louisiana (2). I used to love eating there when I was a kid.
