Anybody own or has played the Fender MIK Koa Telecaster? I've seen pics of this one online, and the price seems right - Looking for my first tele. What gives, any feedback on these??

Thanks

They are okay. When they first came out I tried 2 of them in a local shop. Pretty average, but probably not a bad value.

I love the looks of them - especially the Strats.

I've read online that they're only a Koa veneer which is prone to coming loose somehow or other. Might have been at the trem posts on the Strat though.

Yes, they are a koa veneer. I like the looks as well, but otherwise they are basically an import tele.

They look beautiful, but as stated it's only a Koa veneer. You can do much better quality wise for about the same or a little more money with the MIA or MIM Tele models.

Pretty much what everyone else says. I believe the body is basswood on these, which is a decent sounding wood for a lot of guitars I've played or owned, but for some reason on these, it didn't really do it for me. Just sounded a little dull. They are pretty though.
