I might see hawks and bunnies in my backyard, but I've NEVER seen anything like THIS!!!

(you might want to mute your sound - I wish they hadn't added music -- the vid is special enough on its' own. Not too many people have seen anything like this)

Thanks Bones. I've tried to edit/fix the link in my post but it just won't work. Been having major technical problems here, so perhaps this is just part of it. (Alec! Come back!)

in september,
i found my very confused aussie shepherd
attempting to herd 3 black bears
(--- 2 adults & 1 cub ---)
off of my property,
mid-morning of one sunny day.
(i had mistakenly thought he was barking at some
nasty, nasty Eastern Coyotes).

I'd want a whole lot more than a 10 ga unless you're firing slugs and even then I'd want something with more velocity. Firing a shotgun at a mother moose seems like suicide to me. That said, I'm not a hunter but running into that pair unexpectedly would be pretty damn scary at close quarters. A charge would be fairly likely. That's why they make 3" bush guns. I've seen a mother and calf moose from a distance of about 100 feet across a ravine in Alaska. They're amazing animals. They are HUGE. I really wanted to see a bull but I never did. Cool video. I don't get what makes someone want to shoot 'em though.

Just goes to show you, no matter what the species, kids just love to play in the sprinkler.

Reminded me of living in Alaska and being out on my deck when two baby moose that must have been just born came through the yard with Mama. They were still not to stable on the legs and were a bit unstable walking and they just played in the back yard for a few minutes under the watchful eye of Mama and then mom walked off and so did the baby moose.

Very enjoyable video.

I would hope that whoever was running the camera was behind some very thick glass, because a momma moose ain't to be messed with...

When I was in college, I was in a field geology class one summer. We were camping outside of Salt Lake City and a mama and baby moose wandered through our campsite. The only large 4-legged animals I have any personal experience with are horses, so, I tend to think of every animal in that class (zebra, deer, etc...) as being the same size. Moose are way larger! :D Very impressive creatures. Thanks for the vid.
