As an avid Volkswagen fan I'm conflicted. It's cool but I love the current design sooooo much. It looks a bit like an SL 55 mixed with a few other cars. I would just decide based on how it drives.

Reminds me a bit of a cross between a Peugeot 607 (the new ones), a Mercedes CL (the new ones) and a Honda Civic (...the new ones).

The VW CC is a winner.

The VW CC looks more like the Mercedes CLS, but of course this Infiniti looks a lot like the MB CLS.

I'm not a huge fan of the back lines but it's a nice car. The interior seems like it's very well thought out.

I had a 99 Passat. Best car I ever had until the engine exploded, though that was the dealer's fault, not the car's.

They also tried to charge me over $1000 to *diagnose* the dome light not turning on when the doors opened.

Still, I loved the car.

New one = meh for me. They're also getting stupid expensive. For the price I'd rather have an Audi.

i also have a '99 passat..nice car but the factory wouldn't pay for the control arms even though there was a recall, i didn't meet the "requirements" in the fine print so that was $1100 out of my pocket..my sister, wife, and a good friend all avoided VW after that story...

Nice looking car. Had a Passat for 4 years up until Jan this year (changed jobs, got a company car) and was a pleasure to drive and I have no reason to believe the cc would be any different.

The Audi that the CC would be competing with (A6) is about $10 grand more. I don't think they're too comparable. I couldn't buy either so it's not really an issue for me.

so far, i think these are great cars,
and great value-for-dollar.
i'm still driving my 2004 Passat V6 estate / AWD,
which has some hard miles on it:
upstate ny, NYC, southern canadia..... and los angeles.

i only hope that the Passat CC has more reasonable gas-mileage,
and is..... errrmmmm..... "greener".

dude.

They are made in mexico, why would you want a VW made in mexico?

IMO, the only "hot" VW is the Golf GTI. Still, that looks like a nice car, but I've heard less than stellar things about the Passat in the past.

After the 60s Beetles, the VW in general gave me a bad taste in my mouth that has never gone away. The absolute worst car I ever owned was an early 70s Rabbit, and I owned an early 70s Pinto at one time! I'll NEVER buy a VW again, ever.

I saw one in person and had to ask the owner what the hell it was - I thought it was a Phaeton but I knew they had discontinued them a few years ago here, and this thing looked brand new.

It's a great looking car in person. I think you have to see it in person to really get what its all about. I think they have a winner with this one.
