This clip is probably one of the sloppiest I've ever recorded. It is entirely "live": one take using the looper, with no advance planning or structure. No overdubs or re-dos, and it shows. :D

That said, the machine is a lot of fun when its working properly.

Very cool. I've been on a Pink Floyd trip lately and this is very psychedelic...nice.

Thanks! The guitar is my new, extremely sweet, Rick Kelly protocaster, of which I expect to post pics later today.

I just plugged the M13 into an Axe-FX, which I set up with a completely dry, clean, twin reverb amp model. At the beginning of the clip you can hear the tone with the M13 bypassed.

Really cool man, btw what was the distortion model you used for the first distorted lead tone? Sounded really great.

Sorry guys, I totally forgot about this thread for a while. Swamped with other things.

I can't recall for sure what that first distorted lead tone is. I think it's their idea of a Rat. I don't quite understand all the posts that state that it sounds like a real rat, and at one point I've probably had every iteration of the rat. This thing doesn't remind me of it at all.

Ohwell. Fun unit.

I understand these type of comparisons, I do them myself.. but another way of going about it is asking if it sounds good or useful to you rather than whether it sounds like a RAT, TS-9, Memory Man, whatever. The goal probably is to get a bunch of really good, usable sounds rather than whether it sounds exactly like pedal X or Y.

I've said that myself. Personally I think the trick to appreciating the dirt tones in this unit is to think of them as a collection of new tones, not a collection of specific, classic dirt boxes.

But it's Line 6 that says this dirt tone is a model of a Rat. And people on here say it sounds just like their Rat. I like the tone, but I wouldn't guess it was supposed to be a rat if nobody told me. And I'd be quite disappointed if I were trying to duplicate a real rat with it.

Yeah. For example let's say you're into Satriani's legato stuff (I'm not a big fan myself but his name just came to mind). I think he uses a DS-1. When you try a new pedal, it's probably more useful to see if the pedal will allow you to play Satriani-like runs rather than whether it sounds like a DS-1.

I think it sounds VERY effect-y.

I am going to try to do a youtube clip or something cause I feel like the classic distortion patch does sound like my 90's reissue rat.

MrMunky, no one else I've heard's got the knack for making the *cheezyness* of these multi-effectors actually work for the music, rather than against it.. Mind you, I don't get around much anymore.

But if you got a gig as the house band (mebbe add a drum machine) I'd show up every night & drink at the bar till my liver fell out, bounced off the brass rail & hit the floor.

BTW, I'm hearing a lot more Henry Mancini then David Gilmour in that clip, but like I said, they haven't let me out lately.

Keep up the good work:AOK:RoCkIn:BEER!!
