Just seeing if anyone one here is into this wonderful band-Phil Wandscher from Whiskeytown is the guitarist and the rest of the band are all fine players from Seattle bands as well-her voice is incredible
I'm just wondering also if anyone has scoped out their gear-
very basic but grand & beautiful sounds --I'd love to know the origins

I play music with a drummer named Kevin Blackwood who played music with her and her ex-husband before she went solo and started the sweet hereafter. It's cool because he has a bunch of old recording from when they played together and they're a blast to listen to!

since no one here knew, I took it to the next to the next real source, Ms. Sykes (coolest gal there is) who tells that Phil plays a D'armond Starfire and Les Paul (P-90-Bigsby) and a Fender Prosonic and Vox AC30-

hope that helps 1 of you as well-

I started a thread on them about three months ago and it no longer is on the boards.

Its nice stuff though I sometimes find that his guitar playing is a little overwhelming live, some of the 'solo's were a bit typical
while the accompaniment parts are quite nice . . . they they sure put on a good show otherwise.

When I saw them it was a Vox-AC30 and a Les Paul . . .. and it sounded very much like a Les Paul through a Vox, even checked out his pedal board . . . but I didn't take notes and don't remember much though I think he used a Fulldrive

What was I thinking . . . (re: above post)

I just saw them again, only the two of them: there is really something very special about that pair - she really deserves recognition -uncompromising depth.

They are masters of something very subtle and very powerful - they played a small club with hardly anybody

Two things:

- Big fan of Phil's. Very subtle yet powerful guitar player. Never heard him do anything that I didn't think was absolutely appropriate for the song. Great country/rock chops!

- Hats off to pfflam who updated a post that is dang near four years old!
