Ok...so I get NetFlix and start streaming a Who concert....get the urge and plug the les paul into my AC30 CC2 -
Red light (power) comes on, click -- goes dim- no sound, nothing now.
I checked the little fuse that can be accessed from the back panel -- looks good to me.. Can you tell me where the other fuses are
Suggestions? Could it still be the fuse? A tube maybe?
Help would be nice.
Thanks Gentlemen!

could be the fuse... especially if you're not getting power to your indicator light...
swap it for a good one first and see

That's what I am thinking. No lights in the tubes, no indicator light.

The fuse probably popped, even if it looks good. I don't remember if there are any internal fuses on that amp, but I am sure someone around here will know.
Fuse isn't really the problem, only a symptom. Sounds like a tube went bad, and the fuse popped.

So far I have found 3 fuses - main power on the back panel and two on the powertube mother board
If a tube went bad (and it' usually the rec on these, but I replaced it with a nice one) which is more likely the culprit -- power, preamp -- how would I know?

I think the CC2 was embarassed in front of all those vintage Hiwatts.

Try swapping in the fuses on the power tube motherboard first. If you get a repeat of the original symptoms, it's probably one of your power tubes. Then it's just the process of elimination...

That little bugger underneath the power chord escaped me! He was the blown one (which led to 3 more blown ones) caused by the bad Rectifier tube. It's only a year or so old (JJ Recto). So I popped in a new fuse, the old recto (cheap'o which I will replace) and she works great.
Also played around with preamp tubes and discovered that I really enjoy a 12at7 in the phase inverter, Tung-Sol in V1 and JJ in V2...weird huh :)

Those are pretty hard on the rectifier tube and modern 5AR4 are not quite what the originals were. Pretty common failure.
Probably brought on by scaring your poor little amp with the Who. Sorta frightening. I know my guitars cringe.

I'd say May's wall of AC30's could blow down Townsend's Hiwatt stacks anyday!
