You bring your blowup doll to a recording you did in church?

Actually, she's one of those full-size dolls (not blow-up) somewhere between a mannequin and a large puppet. There's a story behind her that is actually quite touching and she is always in the church somewhere as a reminder of someone in the past.

What's the story?
Reminds me of that scene in "That Thing You Do" where they record their demo in the church with Uncle Bob (Chris Isaak)! nice!

i'm not sure how recording in a church would go for my band since we worship the devil and are called the hellhound junkies.

We do one piece called "Devils and Angels" (this is not really a Christian band) that's really party/funky/jazzy and he is all OVER them doing lots of really cool riffs... :) None of us care for the original after we do it with a LOT more life and character! :) I first heard the piece and I liked the style and heard a lot of potential. The rest of the band kind of forgot about it during the decision making process and one day I started playing my own version of it on the guitar just to get things charged up a bit during a rehearsal and now everyone really digs it! It is a challenge though... You'll hear once the mixdown is complete and I have files to post. We had 16 tracks...

I like the idea of recording in slightly non-traditional spaces a lot.
There's something weird in the pictures of the drums though...it looks like you can see a reflection on the right bass drum's resonant head, but I don't see any hardware holding on a head.
