anyone here play thru one?

i had one almost 17 years ago and got stolen, can't even remember it well.
Do any of you guys have one?
can it be modified for true bypass?
anyone wants to share some info?
how would you compare it to the retro-sonic chorus, am, etc?
thanks

Sure,i was just tweeking mine yesterday it is my Leslie type sound.I suppose it could be bypassed but what's the point if you have a good buffer at the end of the chain?
The older MIJ Grey/black platic boxes are getting collectible i know because i buy every one i see.

I own an original,it's a classic pedal that works great.I would never mod it,if I want it to be true bypass I'll just stick it in a loop but it's fine the way it is.I don't see the point in comparing it to a CE-1,Retro sonic or whatever, there is no perfect pedal of any type, that's why I own 180 of them.the SCH-1 is a really good chorus pedal.

It doesn't need to be true bypassed, IMO - the buffer is fine.

I've A/B'd it to the DLS Chorus~Vib and the AM Chorus (not sure which version) - for Leslie style chorus/vibrato it was the clear winner. It has this 'chug' to the warble that really sounds like a doppler type thing going on. No chorus I've ever tried has this quality to it.

I have the black enclosure sch-1. Every other chorus I've tried sounds too thin and shrilly.
I love using with distortion too. I know many people think that's the "80's signature sound" but that only works if you play 80's riffs!:p I just roll back the volume on the guitar to make it sound like the ships are landing.
