Amp/guitar pickup matching

Name an amp that truly (not just because you own the amp) sounds just as good with either single coil pickups or humbucking pickups. I own several desirable amps but it seems as if currently my ears only like one with both types of pickups.

Gotta agree to a point. My Swart AST sounds amazing with Single Coils, great with my Cobra which can split the Humbuckers, and ok with my LP. The Quidley seems to like both single's and humbuckers. I now the joke is as we get older we can't hear as well but I agree with you 100% about having much more discerning ears about what amps match up better with which pickups

I think it's just such a matter of personal preference.

For example...I think my ac30 sounds awesome with a tele, or with a LP, or a 335.

I definitely thought my deluxe reverb sounded better with a les paul than a tele.

I think Marshalls sound great either way. It just depends on the sound you like.

I love the sound of humbuckers in a tweed deluxe, and they were made for single coils.
