A day without some expensive suprise isnt a day anymore..
came home, fired up my 2 JCM800's
2205, 2203-
2203 has "HUM" that was never there before, not dirty power, cables or a dimmer in my room,
2205 is fluctuating in volume- one moment its at 4 then 2.5 then 4 like a slow phase in volume.
Powertubes?
I dunno
any hints/tips
So far I've tapped my tubes lightly, no change, tried alternate power outlets and still have the same noise at 2 locations.
Thanks in advance.

Both amps acted up at the same time??? Did you try other electrical devices to see if anything else is effected? Are they amps connected in any way Slaved etc???

Any other and/or new appliances in your home that may be on the same circuit?

The circuit in my music room is a direct feed off the main 220 -
no other gizmos , did my usually unplug everything, get out the $300 guitar cable thing, still noise..
They are both hooked to my stereo rig, there mated at a DD-20, but its worked perfectly for 4 years no issues..
so then I tryed it with my framptone 3 banger which has ground isolation, still the same sounds..
Gonna try swapping some tubes, the 2203 has old KT88s.. and the 2205 has even older EL34s..

The chances of both amps having bad tubes at the same time is not likely.
I suggest you disconnect all the gizmos you have connected to those amps and plug them in in another room.Amp-power cord-guitar-speaker.Nothing else.

Don't assume this is not the issue just because it has worked fine before.
