ok,

I should have been arrested probably about 25 times over my career .......for things like going 165 in a 55, or setting a car on fire in the junk yard or burning one of my own cars that I didn't like, or breaking the post counter at HC or something like that :dunno

...... or arrested for one DUI where they let me go home because I was such a nice guy :) and only lived about 2 minutes away

BUT !!!

I've never been arrested. :BEER

DUI - I hadn't had a drink, but I was dozing at the wheel late at night driving from a wedding in New Hampshire to Boston. I spent hours in the holding cell while they determined that my then-wife, who had been drinking, was sober enough to drive. The Breathalyzer proved me right.

Abandoning a vehicle in a road - I was driving with my brother's then-wife and my then-girlfriend in South Holland IL. They started arguing with each other, I had enough, stopped the car, got out, walked away. The police found me almost where we had left my brother for a meeting, and arrested me since I took the only keys...I suppose the statue of limitations has ended on this one.

Actually taken to jail - 2 - both DUI's, within 6 months of each other when I was 18. Not happy times.

Taken to the station and parents called, but not actual jail - 3 or 4 - curfew violations and underage drinking - didn't make for happy parents.

Should have gone to jail but didn't - too many to count. http://tulsasportbikeriders.com/forum/images/smilies/eusa_whistle.gif

I was arrested in 1968 with a lot of marijuana....8 pounds to be exact. Back then that was big time trouble.

A "friend" of my father who was very highly placed in military intelligence got the charges dropped.

To this day I don't know what actually happened in the judges chambers between my Dad's friend, the judge, and the DA....and I really didn't care...I was just glad to be off the hook. If my father knew the details he took them with him to his grave.

Oh yeah...I called him "Mr. Austin" or "sir" for the rest of his life.

posted on the site before, a false arrest by Dallas cops in the mid 80s, I was leaving a strip club, cop stopped me, on one of the back roads, as I was driving a car went wizing past followed by a cop car, forced me off the road, as I setting there a cop car comes up, the previous cop had been sprayed by his own pepper spray, could hear it on the radio so the guy that had me was pissed.

I have a name that is same as very famous Dallas Preacher, he is a great uncle but did not know of him at the time, so any way the cop takes me in for DWI, get to the police station and I pass the breathalyzer not even close in fact. really upsets the cop, so the shift captain tells him how they can hold me, they come up with all these crimes, running a stop sign, speeding, evading arrest, wreckless driving, failure to signal a turn, no insurance, all the charges were completely false, but they let them hold me, spent the night in the drunk tank to reinforce that I was a drunk. Spent the day in jail, Judge at the end of the day apologized profusely, I pleaded no contest an all the charges were time served, except the insurance which I had to go to downtown and show that I had proof of insurance.

Talked to a lawyer friend he said suing would only keep the cops from being punished by the department.

however I can not serve on a jury, a procecuter always asks if anyone has been falsely arrested, one female procecuter says we see police funny. Yeah we do.

Once. Possession. Charges dropped due to improper police procedure.

I very nearly got arrested at the Republican National Convention this summer - not protesting, just biking around looking for photo opportunities. I wasn't downtown even 10 minutes before winding up in a police trap with hundreds of other people - mostly non-protesters like me.

The way they were running things, pretty much everyone on the street who wasn't a cop or a Republican Conventioneer was arrested. Bleh.

When I was 15, all my friends and I were arrested for breaking and entering and malicious mischief. We had been squatting at an abandoned raquetball club, where we had drained the pools for skateboarding. We were using the inside of the club to drink and hook up with girls. That was a good summer, other than the arrest, of course.

When I was 16, I was riding in a car that got pulled over, and there was 12 pounds of weed in the trunk. There were 6 of us, and the cops had us hogtied with zip ties, and took trophy pictures of each other next to us and the weed. I was also on acid at the time. I highly recommend NOT going to jail on acid.

I was a bad, bad kid. I got away with hundreds of other things that were worse, so I consider myself lucky. After the second arrest, I straightened up my act. After I straightened up my act, I began dating my future wife, and she didn't (and still doesn't) put up with that kind of stuff. Once again, I got lucky. Puberty is a b!tch. I look back on stuff I used to do, and I can't believe it. Testosterone is worse than PCP.

Heh. Stupid teenage boy stuff is what I cal "testesterone poisoning". Sometimes, I think the primitive cultures had it right when they'd arm all the teenage boys with spears and send them out into the desert. The only ones who come back alive are either total badasses or relatively smart cowards, which makes for a pretty good social mix.

When I was 18 (1975) I had lived in Iowa for about 6 months or so, and was planning to move back to Texas in January. I had a December gig with this crap 3 piece country band, that for some reason, made pretty decent money playing all of the small town honky tonks. A friend had come with me to a gig, and afterwards, we got on the interstate. It was freezing cold, and heat wasn't coming on as quickly as I wanted, so I sped up to about 80mph (speed limit then was 55). After a minute or so, a car came up and got right on my ass. I was just about to tap the brake when the cherries came on. He was pretty nice, considering I had hair down to my waist and was wearing a western style leisure suit and cowboy boots :roll I told him about the heat, and although he understood, citing he had an old VW that he had to do that to get the heat going, he was still giving me a ticket.

After running my plates, and license, he asked why I had a 67 Dodge van registered in Iowa, but I had a Texas driver's license. I told him I had only been here for a few months, and we were moving back to Texas in January, all true. He then told me that since I wouldn't be around to go to traffic court, I'd need to pay the fine then and there, $50. I dig in my pocket and come up with $35! He doesn't take Discover LOL My buddy had left the house with about $100, so I hit him up for $15, but he had spent every cent on beer and playing pool. So off to the Cedar County Jail I got, while my buddy drives my van back home to get my wife to come get me. So I spent about 1/5 hours in jail. I think if I had been in my own county, they'd have let me go home.

BTW, I voted zero, since I was never told I was under arrest, just being held until I came up with $15 more.

Not particularly proud of it but I've seen the inside of more than one jail. All alcohol related. Mostly the result of drunken hell raising in my twenties. No felonies and only one DUI (1975). Seems like whenever I drank, I woke up in jails or hospitals. Quit drinking 15 May 1983. Haven't seen a jail since. That's also how I lost all of my gear from the 70s. Pawned for drinking money. Never again.

Sounds like you are a pretty rowdy dude.

I have been taken to jail several times, but like the good Dr., they always let me go.
A lot off ass kissing and dropping names sure didn't hurt.
Back in the day, I never carried an ID, that helped get me off a couple of times as well,
It was really a hassle to book somebody without an ID back then.

I was arrested at a party full of drunks for minor in possestion of alcohol. I had a bad cold that day, so i was loaded on cold meds. I decided to not drink, and the party was pretty out of control, so I was helping the girl whose house it was keep the peace.

Well the cops show up and all my buddies (who were drinking) ran out the back door, and hop the fence. Well I figured since I didn't drink, and I wasn't guilty of anything, that I would walk out the back door, and meet up with my friends later. Well I guess someone else must have dropped their 12 pack while trying to hop the fence. The police ran right past me chasing the kid with the 12 pack. When they failed to catch him, they came back and grabbed me. They said that my breath smelt like beer, before I even opened my mouth. I had just eaten a piece of mint gum, and didn't even take a sip of booze, so there was no way they smelt anything coming off of me.

I said to them that I haven't been drinking. This is when they violently shoved me up against the fence and toss a pair of cuffs on me. He said that he saw me in the back yard with a beer bottle in my hand, and that I threw the bottle over the fence. He said he also saw me with the 12 pack, running out of the house. All in the dark back yard.

So I sat in the back of the cruiser for about 45 minutes while they went inside the house. There were about 25 kids in the house hiding that were all let off with a warning. I literally watched these kids stumble to their cars from the back seat of the cruiser. It was infuriating. I told the police when they got back to the car, that they were making a mistake.

I begged them to give me a breath test, or to see if my finger prints were on the 12 pack (now in the trunk of the car, never to be seen again). They told me "save it for the judge". I didn't think cops actually said that! So we get to the station and they take my picture, etc. I call my parents and ask them to bail me out. They are obviously pissed and don't believe that I'm not drunk either. I sit in my cell while a drunk heroin addict is screaming and crying about how they are going to "TAKE AWAY MY BABY!!!!!!!?!"

I must have waited 2 hours before my parents showed up. I was thinking that they didn't believe that I wasn't drunk and were trying to teach me a lesson or something. It turns out that the bail bondsman lives an hour away, so they were at the station the whole time, just waiting for this guy to show up.

I went to court the following Monday (my mom had to take a day off of work, and I missed a day of school) for the hearing. I got to sit there and listen to all the other folks cases. Then they finally called my name. I plead not guilty, and met with a police representative. The rep showed me a copy of the police report which was full of lies, and said sign this and you will pay a $20 fine, and this will never show up on any job applications or anything. I refused, and said if we have to take you to court and fight this we will. He decided they had no evidence, and that if I was so sure about going to court, then I must be telling the truth. So he dismissed the whole thing.

I should have been arrested a few other times, so I chalk this one out as karma. But it was an eye opening experience. I laugh every time someone mentions "rights".

1977, 8th grade, I had bet a friend who could last longer, spinning in a commercial dryer at a public laundrymat. I was getting pretty beat up. I am sure if I did not open the dryer door and have it hit someone ( the cop ) and say get the "F" out of the way I could have gone home. I am also supposedly banned for life from a bar the cubby bear, downtown Chicago for fighting. Not just me but friends also. I am going to guess after 12 years I can get in again. (Really they are just so jaded and pessimistic they can't help it :boxer)

1. Assaulting a police officer.

(Thats where they beat the shit out of me and I get charged) (Charges dropped because they got a little over zealous)

2. DUI at 19, (My buddy was argueing with a cop at a bar, they ask him what he was driving and he told them. They told him he better not drive. So, he comes and gets me and tells me lets go! (Never told me about the cops)

They see his car leave so they pulled us over. The cops blew me and I was right on the line. They argued over whether to bust me? (It was Chrismas Eve) They decide since they already called it in they have to take me in.:barf

3. DUI at 26 for squealing my tires (Volkswagon Rabbit) :dunno

4. Statatory rape! (Those sheep are liars, she had ID I swear! The Cow vouched for her!):jo

Yes! Yes! Yes! I'm kidding about number "4"! (I've never been caught):D

I used to do that, too. In my twenties(1970s) when I was unemployed and had fines to pay I would sit it out at the county jail. They would credit you with $25/day. Three hots and a cot. Play cards, watch tv, read, drink coffee and smoke.

In 1971, I got pulled over by two cops at 2:30 am down the NJ shore with 100 hits of window pane and an oz of weed on the front seat. Cop #1 pulled my friend off to the side toward the back of the car. Cop #2 stayed up front with me standing by the passenger door. He got his flashlight out and made the motions of going over the interior, clearly stopping for a moment on the items on the dashboard. He then told his buddy: 'nothing here' and as he turned to head back to his patrol car, he told me to cut this crap out because his partner was looking for trouble that night.

I spent most of my youth in and out of some form of correctional institution. Starting with the local Juvee....then the regional "camp".....then onto the big league CYA wards. The funny thing is, all that time I did, originated from one original incident and the subsequent arrests were all for probationary violations and truancies. Once the sytem latches onto you....that bitch won't let go. These days, I'm married to a cop :huh and spend a lot of time working with at risk youth; both in and out of the same institutions I used to frequent.....(getting them their diplomas/GED's, into apprenticeships, helping them find jobs and help sytaying out of jail and off the street corner, etc.) I also managed to get my juvenile record expunged.

East Lansing jail for one night-1985. I was drunk, sang my ABC's, the cop was actually very nice. Thankfully I had the cell to myself.

The dream police, they live inside of my head.
The dream police, they come to me in my bed.
The dream police, theyre coming to arrest me, oh no.

You know that talk is cheap, and those rumors aint nice.
And when I fall asleep I dont think Ill survive the night, the night.

cause theyre waiting for me.
Theyre looking for me.
Evry single night theyre driving me insane.
Those men inside my brain.

The dream police, they live inside of my head.
(live inside of my head.)
The dream police, they come to me in my bed.
(come to me in my bed.)
The dream police, theyre coming to arrest me, oh no.

Well, I cant tell lies, cause theyre listening to me.
And when I fall asleep, bet theyre spying on me tonight, tonight.

cause theyre waiting for me.
Theyre looking for me.
Evry single night theyre driving me insane.
Those men inside my brain.

I try to sleep, theyre wide awake, they wont leave me alone.
They dont get paid to take vacations, or let me alone.
They spy on me, I try to hide, they wont let me alone.
They persecute me, theyre the judge and jury all in one.

cause theyre waiting for me.
Theyre looking for me.
Evry single night theyre driving me insane.
Those men inside my brain.

The dream police, they live inside of my head.
The dream police, they come to me in my bed.
The dream police, theyre coming to arrest me.

Regarding having a record expunged. Does that really clear the books? Or are there systems that will still show the arrest?

Me? The full arrest, processed, and sitting in jail thing? One time. A 4th and a 3rd degree felony. I was charged as leverage against the person they were really after. Spent a few days in jail. Glad I had long hair then. Charges were eventually dropped and years later I had the record expunged.

I deleted my long post about Mayberry.
I spilled my guts.
Someday I will post a thread and tell my story from a kid.
Family/friends shot/massive fights, death of 5 friends in a bar that was fire bombed that my cousin owned.
Yet, no arrests.

I was arrested 4 times as aminor for various indescretions . Yet only convicted of one( shoplifting) .
As an adult I was arrested for DUI in Chicago ( whilst in college) but was released the next morning due to lack of evidence. ( they never actually saw me in the vehicle).

Since then ( 1996) I am clean as a whistle!!

Drunk and disorderly......my first college girlfriend had dumped me and was in her room with another dude. I got trashed and went over there and kicked in some windows in her dorm and tried to fight the dude. One night in jail, paid for the windows, and $125 fine. She definitely was NOT worth it.....

My friends and I were building a tree house in this huge field by our neighborhood and before the day was over a patch 1/4 mile wide and over 1/2 long went up in flames. If we had been caught.... you should have seen how many firetrucks they had out there. We were scared absolutely to death.

I spent 3 nights in a cell at John Vorster Square...Google it.

If I close my eyes right now, I can remember every minute, even though it was 24 years ago.

That's all I'll say. :)

only once. i was arrested for tryin to buy alcohol with a fake ID. 3 months without a D.L. and a $1200 fine. this happened at the begining of summer. i felt like such a moron and my parents felt so let down.

I think this idiotic law is not good at all.
In the caribbean and Europe you see young people drinking and because it is not illegal to do so, people grow up more responsible when it comes to drinking.
Here , since it is taboo, young people tend to kill themselves when they have the chance to drink, they do it like if it was a prize to be taken.

How in hell can you be responsible enough to shoot and kill someone else when you are 18, but not to have a drink?

I think people should be allowed to drink when they are 18, allowed to be able to try a couple of beers.

This comes from someone that doesn't drink or do drugs of any kind, it is my choice not to do any of them, i prefer to enjoy the world as it is, but i have friends that do and love em for whom they are, it is also their choice to do what they do.

Yes sir, no problem....:bow

Needless to say, that was a LONG time ago and I don't do such things anymore....:Spank

Similar thing happened to me. Coming home from a July 4th camping trip we got into a car accident with $400 of illegal fireworks in the trunk. The police showed up and were very suspicious of us (rightfully so, we were a bunch of stoned punk-asses!). We got towed out of a ditch and the car was only dented so we could still drive home, we thought we had dodged a bullet… except the car wouldn't start. The cop comes back to the car and angrily says "Get out of the car and open the trunk". We open it and it's stuffed with huge cases full of fireworks with labels saying things like "Super Exploding Blast Fun-Time" , "EXPLOSIVE", and chinese writing - enough for felony charges. The cop is like "Get this stuff out of the way" not noticing AT ALL, so we push it aside while covering them with our sleeping bags. He reaches into the back of the trunk and reset the fuel pump cutoff switch that went off in the accident to prevent an explosion. "You guys are all set!" and we were on our way…

Twice when I was 19.
1. Once when I was driving the company parts truck and went through a speed trap.
I did the smart thing and tried to ditch the cops. Didn't work.

2. I decided to climb up on a local business roof one night after drinking a bunch of beer. Must have tripped an alarm. My girlfriends dad bailed me out of the pokey.
Fun memories :jo

Twice

1st time: the whole band got popped in a van behind the bar smoking pot. We missed the last set.

2nd time: DUI, Crashed a car.

Arrest eligible: Every day for about 20 years for at least possession and DUI.

By the grace of the Big Kahuna, I;m sober almost 17 years. Haven't been busted or bust-eligible in a long time
