Got one on Friday but didnt get a chance to plug it in over the weekend. I scored a new one on ebay from a dealer.
Check out the demos on you tube. Tone Factor has a nice demo as does "guitarmandude".
If you do a search for "Big Muff w/ Tone Wicker" on you tube there are 3-5 GOOD demos on there.
I think (from what I have seen/heard) they took all that was great about the big muff and fixed its shortcomings in the Treble/Clarity department with the Tone and Wicker switches. However they still left intact what we all love about the Muff....big, nasty, fuzzy, thick distortion & sustain.
I should be able to get some time in with it this evening after work, perhaps I will chime back in w/ my thoughts if I get a chance.
I got one a few weeks ago and its super cool, its a stock 2008 model big muff with tone options. The wicker adds some clarity and definition to your sound and the tonebypass gives you more mids and a slightly crunchy sound as well as boosting the volume by a whole lot.
Definitely gonna be a favorite for a lot of people i think.

So are the extra controls on the BMTW in anyway similar to the stuff on the swollen pickle, or am I just way off base on that one?

Not exactly like the SP. The tone switch in the Wicker Muff simply bypasses the tone stack and it gives you a huge, broad tone. Really huge.
The wicker switch acts is a high/mid frequency filter so it acts like a treble booster.
Great and flexible pedal at a great cost.
Treble booster is an over exaggeration because the wicker switch is very subtle, not an extreme change like a treble booster would be.

I might get me one of these. I already have a BYOC Large Beaver (triangle), but one can never have too many Muffs. I foolishly sold my modded black russian Muff.

I agree with you the Wicker effects is rather subtle but I was trying to illustrate what it does to people who haven't heard it.
Got mine from Tonefactor..super quick as always
The gearmandude video is pretty spot on. I am not a fuzz expert, so I cant compare it to alot of toher fuzz boxes.
I like the tone wicker mod, but it does allow a little high frequency noise...
Very pleased with mine.

The Tone switch sounds like position four on the mode switch of the BYOC Beaver. Doesn't that too bypass the tonestack and give a pronounced full range boost? That's what it does on mine at least...
