This is the beginning of a progress thread for a really cool new Shorty that is getting close to completion.

This is the top that was slated for Chris G's custom that was always very cool to me. He decided to go with a different top ultimately but I knew this "boatwake" quilt had to be a special guitar. I decided to experiment a bit with the stain on this one. The stain color is from the exact batch that I used for Mike's doublecut. I graded the sandback so that the tips of the horns are almost natural. The butt of the guitar is basically unsanded.
The back is a marbled black limba. The neck is also black limba with a quilted headstock veneer stained to match the top. Fingerboard is Brazilian rosewood.
Interested buyers have the chance to choose the pickups, tuners and a limited number of other specs. I am planning on using the new Schroeder stoptail on this guitar.
The neck carve is the "JUST RIGHT" Schroeder carve. Not too wide or too narrow. Not too thin or too fat. Just a great round neck carve with rounded shoulders for comfortable playing. Frets are stainless steel.
Please let me know if you are interested in choosing the final specs on this guitar!

Thanks guys! I have to credit Elizabeth with the color scheme too. She is a great muse for guitar design. She just drops these little hints, "Hey wouldn't it be cool if you did a faded stain from aqua blue at the bottom to ultrafade on the horns?" And it sets my mind in motion.
I will keep the pic coming as it comes together. I have a couple other tricks up my sleeve for this one.

Thanks for all of the comments guys. And I hate to tempt you but here is another one almost ready!! :D For those who don't know my work, these are all hand-carved. It might not matter to some but I just wanted to let you all know. They are all subtly different. This one has a bit wider re-curve area than some others and more of a classic archtop (as in acoustic archtop) carve.
