The Los Angeles Electric 8 in Venice, CA. They are an electric guitar octet that does an eclectic set of music written/arranged for guitar octet.
Tonight's program:
Balinesa: El canto de los changes (Randall Kohl)
Domino Figures (Wayne Siegel)
Prelude 8, Fugue 8, Prelude 14, Fugue 21 (Bach)
La Porta, Canzone (Taeggio)
Sonata XII (Gabrieli)
O Jesu mi dulcissime (Gabrieli)
96 Tears (Phil Kline)
Quartet for the End of Time, V (Messiaen)
Octet: Prelude & Scherzo (Shostakovich)
Pretty ambitious, no? I think the strongest pieces were the Kohl, Siegel, and Shostakovich. My wife really enjoyed the Taeggio and Gabrieli.
