Okay, I've hacked through it, but need your help:

Here is what I got, and it sounds good:

Verse
E C Bm E A Eb B7

then repeat,

What's going on chord wise in the chorus, F#m C#m and some other chords?

(It's definitely E C to start, if you play along with the Shirley Bassey version on youtube . . . not F Db as in some sheet music).

jads57's chords are in F. I agree with townsend, the original is in E, and here's my chords (I have to say F major makes the chords easier to understand theoretically):

A1
|E - C - |C(b13) - - - |Bm - E - |A6 - - - |
|D#7 - - - | - - - - |B7b9 - - - | - - (B7+) - |

A2
|E - C - |C(b13) - - - |Bm - E - |A6 - - - |
|D#7 - - - | - - - - |G#m - E/G# - |G#m6 - E/G# - |

B
|D#m - G#m7 - |A#m - - - |D#m - G#m7 - |C#7 - - |
|D#7 - - - |B7 - - - |B9 - - - |(C7) - - - |

(repeat A section)

The coda is a vamp on the "007" intro, as at the end of A2 (G#m with b6 and 6, up and down), and it ends on a G#m69.
(The b13 on the C is simply indicating the G#-E horn motif - kind of repeats the previous bar, but the bass stays on C.)

I'm not an expert at analysis but it seems to me that what ties it all together is the G# minor vibe. All the chords seem to relate in some way to that key, or its parallel modes:
E = VI
C = III of parallel major (Ab)
Bm = minor version of III (also makes a ii-V to A, of course)
D#7 = V
A = phrygian bII
A#m (Bbm) = ii of parallel major or dorian
C#7 (Db7) = IV of parallel major or dorian
etc...

In the light of G#m, the Bm-E-A sequence can perhaps be seen as a ii-V-I of a tritone sub (A subbing for D#7)? (Maybe pushing it, as the A is not a dom7, and the E ought to be Em7 if that was the case.)

There is also the hint of a Coltrane-type major 3rd flip-flopping (technical term, hehe), not only between E and C, but also the evocation of Ab major, as the parallel to home (final) key G# minor.
The b6/#5 idea is certainly a big presence: C note against E major, E note against G#m

I'm shooting in the dark here, btw... ;) :rolleyes:
