Here is a question. I have a Tele with two 4 wire Duncan buckers in it. Can I wire a standard 5 way switch for some out of phase settings?
Thanks guys!

What's the current pickup selection/settings the 5 way chooses?

http://www.seymourduncan.com/support/wiring-diagrams/schematics.php?schematic=2hb_1vol_1tone_5way (http://www.seymourduncan.com/support/wiring-diagrams/schematics.php?schematic=2hb_1vol_1tone_5way)
and use a push/pull pot with this little number: http://www.seymourduncan.com/support/wiring-diagrams/schematics.php?schematic=phase_switching_for_hb
you'll have to use your imagination and a little "trial and error". If you do the first schematic and add the push/pull you'll have splitting and out of phase settings.

No current settings yet, it's a new body/pups/switch I'm putting together.

Funny, I was actually going to use the wiring setup that you put up in your first link. I just wanted to see if there was a way to do it without a push pull. Kind of like PRS did with the Power Out Of Phase setting on their original 5 way switches in 85-87.

the prs wiring is a tricky thing...and I think that the pickups are wired different too. You could wire a tele that way...and Seymour Duncan has a schematic for how to do it with his pickups.

I do have Duncans but couldn't find something for that wiring anywhere. I have a Jazz and JB.

email Seymour DUncan and they'll send you a schematic.

I think you'll need a 5-way super switch for what you want. I'm redoing someone's electronics soon with the out of phase thing in pos 2 & 4.

This uses a superswitch and just two-wire connections, and gives GREAT tones in your setup. The in-series and in-series/out-of-phase settings are amazing. I don't know if a standard switch can be made to do this. Eddie could tell you.

Thanks guys, I think I'll have to order a super switch.
Riddle me this one now :) Turning the pots clockwise lowers volume and tone, counterclockwise raises volume. Totally backwards. I've wired a few guitars, no more than 5, but I've never messed one up before. Guess I got something wrong on this one.

just unsolder the wires and switch them on on the pots, leave the middle alone....they're reversed.

Had a feeling I switched the hot and ground when I started thinking about it.
Thanks!

not the hot and ground. You know how the pot has three posts that you solder to? the one on the left and the one on the right are reversed. righ now when you sweep it goes in the wrong direction...don't jack with the middle ones.
