View Full Version : MTV vs. HGTV
Ain't it just a crying shame that the tracks cut for HGTV programs are at least 100% better than 95% of current radio programming?
The wife loves HGTV so I get to watch a fair amount of it myself. Man they use some good music. A lot of times I want the tracks to keep playing!! Kudos to the cats recording that stuff because it's really good.
I grew up wanting to be on MTV...now I'd rather be heard on HGTV!

Watch Devine Design with Candice Olsen on HGTV. She can turn a shack into a mansion. ...awesome interior designer.
MTV has sucked A** for quite some time now.

With the death of AOR and the record industry as a whole, music for media will be an increasingly lucrative way to go for musicians looking to make a living, IMO, if it hasn't already been for years now.

Heh. When I'm watching HGTV I'll either hear some music I like, or hear music from bands whose albums I already own.
I also enjoy The Weather Channel. They play some interesting stuff late at night. That would be the most awesome job ever, to program the tunes for local on the 8's. But I'm a geek.
And I tend to hear some music I'd like to check out on just regular commercials. Most of them are usually car commercials. I do not know why this is.
The Weather Channel is kick ass as well. I'll let that play while I'm getting dressed in the morning. I wonder though...it seems the Weather Channel stuff is probably from existing recordings, the HGTV segment stuff sounds like little clips made just for the show. I don't know if either of those guesses is actually true.
