Hello all..

Just spent 2700$ for a new pedal board and it seems that month of planning have gone to waste...

I've got this 8 loop switcher that works fine with all of my pedals. the main reason I've bought it is to be able to switch between 3 preamp pedals (H&K Tubeman, Sansamp TriAC, and LPB 2ube...) as I'm going direct to mixer.

Here where it starts to be wired -
As I'm trying to put the Tubeman / TriAC, with highgain setting, in one of the loops (no matter which one), it start to squeal really bad, and I'm not talking feedback or something like that, it like a severe squealing noise that start from the moment you get to a certain point with the volume knob.

Needless to say- I've tried it with all my cables (lava and Gl's), tried it seperately with the same volume setting and it's fine.
Also, I've tried another loop switcher and the results were identical more or less.
It happens only when I'm putting one of the preamps in a loop.

Is there somthing I'm missing here? are you not supposed to put preamp pedals in a loop?

That was supposed to be my main pedalboard and now I feel everything has gone to waste because it was all built on the fact that I would be able to switch between my main tone sources witch are those preamps...

Is there any solution for this problem?

Thanks in advance...

what looper is it? i've heard of this happening with the Carl Martin OctaSwitch, which isn't a true bypass looper.

It's a loop-master switcher but the switcher itself is perfectly fine.
I've tried it also with a Bigshot switcher and got the same noise...

ohhh, the frustration....

Not real familiar with the Tubeman but I believe there is a tube in that pedal have you tried swapping it? Do you have any other high gain OD pedals before it that may be triggering it?

Good luck

Update:

Problem fixed by inserting a buffer before the strip. Apparently, it was an impedance issue and the buffer corrected it. Do realize that this was a rare occurance and you do not need buffers on every loop box you use. If you ever encounter this problem using a loop box, keep this in mind.

Someone on here can probably explain way better than I can how a buffer corrected the squeal. If so, pour your heart out.

Happy Holidays!
