I just put an RS kit in my Guild Bluesbird...which got me to thinking just how other folks are doing it. Anyone take pics of their wiring jobs?

Here's my Guild, this guitar comes factory equipped with Duncan 59's. This is the "modern" wiring scheme,

And here's the same Guild, with the same RS kit, but utilizing with the 50's wiring scheme,

Here's my Light Ash Strat with all new upgrades "stuff"

PRS SE Soapbar, now with CTS pots and Fralin P-90's

So...what you got under the hood?

No.
I have nothing, that I have worked on, that is not in a constant state of transition.
After rewiring anything a few times the residual mess accumulates and, as long as it all hangs together, making it pretty doesn't win any extra prize, here.
I would expect more from a commercial product or a custom/pro install.

Not my guitar, but I bet he wants to keep the leads long in case he sells the pickups.

I have no shame :p

My first couple of wiring jobs were nice and tidy, then I realized that I took way too much time and I'm the only one who'll see it, so it just became if it made sounds I'm fine with it.

Here's some fine examples:

What is most astonishing about this thread is that people have actually photographed the interior wiring of their guitars.

Well, many of us "Geeks" also like servicing, repairing and building amplifiers. I always take many pics of the chassis before and after. It's a good tool for future reference.

Same goes for the guitars I re-wire, both for myself and for others.

What surprises me to an extent is the reluctance of most folks here to show their work, even though multiple pick-up swaps are so commonplace.

The point that you (Tone_Terrific) made in particular that aknowledges you do sloppy work, and are OK with that. I don't get it. I always try to do the best job I can, no matter what the endeavour. Your only reason to even participate in this thread is to "knock" us folks who take some pride in their work. :messedup

Here are some pics of my LP Std, with a set of EMG's and a phase switch. I used some CTS 25k long shaft pots.

Same guitar, but wired up with Kent Armstrong hum-sized P90's. I really like these pups :)

I utilized the factory grounding plate for this install. I put a 10-32 screw in the hole once occupied by the phase switch. That hole was drilled ithrough the top circa 1992 when I felt the need to have multi-tap switching with a set of Dimarzio's. What was I thinking!

What guitar porn would be complete without some close-ups of the cavities?

Sorry, no cavities in sight here. First one is prior to going into the cavity and the second one has the body covered so I wouldn't burn it with the iron while doing it.

Nah, don't take it too hard. We're all geeks on this bus.:dude
I just like to point out the the group ocd tendencies.
Beyond the need for secure and functional and the ability to reservice the area I (need not be you) tend to ask 'so what' if there is still a solder glob stuck on the other pot.

I'll play :D

Here's a custom Tele-Gib I put together. Initially it had a push/pull tone pot for splitting the pickups.

I changed it to a set of hummer-sized P90s and redid as a std tone pot.

Here's a Fender Lead II partscaster I tossed together.

A harness I made for converting my Epi ES-295 to a Gretsch tone switch scheme (w/Filtertrons)

A MIM Std Strat I modded for a friend with Vintage Vibe SP90 pickups and a blender pot

Modded my Jimmie Vaughn Strat to a MV/MT/Blender setup, tidied up the stock wiring, mounted everything on the reliced MIM Std pickguard from my friend's guitar above :D
