Anyone else see the new ODII at buildyourownclone.com? I've built the delay (since sold it) and it was blast to play through and build. I've read good things about their TS clone and all the mods it offers -- now the ODII adds an independent boost (like my TREX Moller) w/ all the mods. Takes the pedal to the next possible level I suppose.
Anyone heard this pedal? I know it says available in january, but some of you fellas (ladies too!) know builders and I thought there may be a mutual friend here.
Looks like a lot of fun -- especially for $89.99!

This pedal looks great and I definitely plan on building one. Big BYOC fan here and so glad to see them regularly adding new kit ideas.

Amen to growing their business! I bought the delay when I first heard about them a few years ago. They only had a handful of kits, now it's at least 3x what it was. I love seeing a good thing get better! Just wish I would have thought of it first!

I'm definitely going to get one of them, possibly two if the other guitarist in the band wants one.
Big thumbs up to the BYOC folks!

I have yet to come across a byoc product that is less than fantastic for what it's designed to do.
I used to have a analogman silver ts9 and a keeley ts9 but the byoc overdrives that I built knocked them both off the board.
I've built this pedal essentially already and I can tell you that it will do exactly what it is intended to do. My only question is whether the boost is pre-ts circuit...which makes a big difference IMO. I really like stacking a boost into a ts9 better than the other way around personally.
I was about to order the other OD kit but they sold out. Then they placed the new kit up.Glad I had to wait ! I will get on as soon as they open the ordering for them.
Just from a quick read through, it looks similar to a Fulldrive 2 . Feel free to educate me here.

i saw that in a byoc email and if that is not the most versitile pedal out there that sounds killer, i woul be surprised.
however, i am a knob-phobe and its too many for me
i have a regular screamer to cjod specs and its pretty much booted my hotcake up for sale

I would love to check this one out eventually-- BYOC is great. I've got a Mouse & Overdrive and love em. Still have a tri-boost I've yet to build as well!

I just got my first BYOC kit for Christmas (Tremolo) and I was hoping to build the original overdrive kit next. However, the new one does look really flexible so we'll see...
The TriBoost looks really cool too and I have always wanted a Rangemaster type of pedal.

you betcha. definitely going to pick up the ODII and probably the leeds fuzz as well...and maybe something else :)
i built the phaser and the trem. then i got bit by the 'kinda' mod bug and put them in the same box and moved the phaser depth control to the outside of the box instead of having the trimpot inside (great move by the way, at the extremes of the pot's travel you get some cool eq changes with no phase, nice shaping tool if you need it to be).

Does anyone have any idea when in January the ODII will be available?

Looks interesting! I built the screamer and it works well. I just built the Monte Allums OD-308 kit, which is based on a Rat, and have to say that pedal sounds great. Very versatile and easy to build.

Any reviews on this pedal? Looks very versatile, kind of like the Swiss Army Knife of Tubescreamers.

It's pretty darned cool if you ask me. With 3 internal trimpots, it has a serious variety/flexibility advantage. The full/fat/normal switch is voiced nicely.
The mosfet version is a whole other thing entirely.

Yeah, I've had one on my board for a while now and really enjoy it. I added a second toggle that allows 3 extra clipping options. So now when the stock toggle is in the 'diode' position, it's actually on the new toggle which is wired to some off-board stuff I did. And I socketed all those options for extra variety. Good thing too b/c two of the diode configurations sound too similar to my ears. But the LEDs are staying.
However, in all honesty, I mainly leave the MOSFET clipping on and use the Full mode. Not sure how you guys are, but I get all excited about knobs and switches and variety, and then end up settling on one or two settings. Never fails, lol.
As for the order of the circuits, it's TS -> Boost, but you can find on the forums how to switch that. It's pretty easy to do.
Here she is. Wife did the writing:

Cool! I'm thinking about buying a prebuilt kit. I have no idea how to solder or the desire to try it right now. I might get the regular version, not the Mosfet. I want a more traditional TS sound anyway.

I built the BYOC Shredder and I like it a lot. It makes my DeVille freak out.
I don't have a TS so I think the ODII might be a good one to start with.

I've built a few other 808 clones (BYOC and GGG). You should be happy either way. IMO, the MOSFET clipping isn't a huge difference from the stock clipping. It's definitely noticeable, and a cool thing for variety's sake, but you should be happy w/ the stock.
Of course, that said, I just built a GGG kit and put a toggle in there that is LED, boost (no diodes), and MOSFETs. There's a big volume difference between the MOS and LEDs which has been documented. But to me, the softness/warmth of the MOS clipping and the crunchy/harshness (in a good way) of the LEDs is where it's at!
