I've got an old "Memphis" Les Paul copy that I'm thinking about fixing up. It has three needs: tuners, pickups, and wiring.
So my question is: what would you put on the guitar in these three areas?
My limitation is I don't want to invest a ton of $$ in this guitar since it isn't that quality of a guitar anyways. What products would give me the most bang for my buck without being the most expensive out there?

Seymour Duncan pickups will be relatively inexpensive and they have a large selection depending on the tone you're looking for. Tuners aren't too much , maybe $50. If you're handy with soldering just buy some 500K CTS pots and use the existing caps or buy a pre wired kit from RS , WCR or wherever you can get the best deal.

Some may disagree but take a look at GFS. Good bang for your buck.

Checking out GFS right now. I had not heard of those before. Seem to have a lot of options at really good prices. Anyone else used those before?
Thanks for the tip!

GFS is the budget modder's paradise. I've used plenty of their parts and pickups, good deals all around!

The GFS tuners look like a great deal. Do they suck???

I've used some GFS parts on an old inexpensive Les Paul copy and they've been fine. I used the Vintage '59s and was really happy. I preferred CTS pots so I bought those locally.
I hope you'll keep us up to date on your project.

For sure. It probably won't be pretty when I finish but I want it to play and sound decent. Not sure what I can expect but since this is the guitar I first learned on almost 20 years ago, it will at least be sentimental to play it again. It is unplayable right now.
