Trussart Snakeskin Steelcaster Deluxe pics

My new Trussart Steelcaster Deluxe was shipped to me Monday and Rob emailed these pics over. This turned out better than I could have imagined. Rob helped me spec this out. I believe its the first one built with their new snakeskin pattern.
Rust on cream, '66 neck, Powertrons, Bigsby. Holy back and F-hole.
Thanks to James, Rob and the rest of the guys for such a killer guitar. Its gonna be a long week of waiting....

When did they start using that Wilkinson bridge with the Bigsby? I put one of those on my Gretsch Duo Jet and thought it was a huge improvement. Glad to see it being used on a Trussart....

The metal top is engraved, then this one has had the rust treatment done and cream paint applied in the recessed areas. I would really like to go and watch the process....hmmm..roadtrip!

Honestly, I may take you up on that offer sometime soon-I have some friends down in Florida and could make the trip over to Alabama too. Sure is better weather than up here right now! BTW, it is my understanding that just like with the gator finish, they actually have a reptile skin that is placed over the metal and somehow engraved or transposed ontot he metal. Can someone explain that more eloquently pelase for everyone interested in this thread.

wes, that sounds incredible-sort of like the Ronnie Wood Zemaitis Prototype that he played on the Shine A Light DVD. I think that had a Strat pickup slanted at the neck and a hum sized P-90 in the bridge. Please post pics of your Steeltop Tele. Once I get done with my Esquire fetish-I got 2-3 more to acquire, I will be hitting the Trussart camp for a few.

I'd be interested to know how the Bigsby is for tuning stability.

Wanted one on mine but in the end change my mind as genreral opinion was that it might create tuning problems???

Frankly, I don't think James would release an instrument that had drastic tuning issues ;)

I am very surprised how good it stays in tune. I'm sure the roller bridge is the key. I'll try to take some pics later today. Taking it to a gig tonight, so we'll really see about the tuning.

When I first saw the bridge I thought it was a Gretsch Melita with the screws taken off! That is an incredible looking guitar! I think the only thing I would like is the darker neck - the bright maple looks a bit "new" with the distressed looking body. But I wouldn't send it back!

I have only ever played one Trussart. It was a bronze coloured Tele at Manny's in Manhattan when I was there in '07. I would love one of those rusty Steelcasters...

I played it for one set. It stayed in tune great, I even use the Bigsby at good bit. Hot pickups, but cut differently than my others due to the Powertrons and Bigsby. Nice to have something a little different sound wise. It got lots of attention too!
