I've seen guys run them both ways. Where do you place your wah?

First in line.

In my current main board I don't have a GE fuzz but I usually put it after the GE fuzz and before other ODs.

It sounds cool both ways. After OD is has a more pronounced, maybe more "processed" sound. Before it sounds more organic to my ears. I would also guess that it differs with different wahs as well.

Start experimenting! There is no right or wrong.

Definitely before for me. It's always first in line.

Fuzz first (if on the board) then Wah then other OD/dirt. I don't usually have fuzz on the board, so Wah is usually first.

I find that I prefer distoring a filtered signal rather than filtering a distorted signal.

cheers,

Always run the Wah first in line (eliminates any unwanted noise, buzz, or hum you could get). Therefore, that would be running it before OD. And any modulation would then go after your OD and finally any delay/reverb is always last in line.

The should go Wah before distortion - but you can do anything you want.

Before... in fact, after my tuner, the Wah is the first in line.

I have my wah before everything and I have a Ge later in the chain and it sounds fine.

I found that if the wah is after an OD pedal there is a huge volume drop when the wah pedal is back (up), if you leave it up it sounds weak and compressed. With the wah before the OD it has a much louder and smother tone when the pedal is up. The wah is also more vocal with it before the OD.
