Anyone ever tried one of these fuzz pedals? The only person I know to ever use one was Jimmy Mccarty of Cactus. I see they sell for over $1000 bucks on Ebay. Are they that good or is it just a scarce pedal?

I had a reissue and I thought it was one of the coolest pedals ever. I wish more octave fuzzes had a blend knob. With the texture knob down it made for a nice fat fuzz as well. It sounded great with keyboards too.

I used to get kicked out of music stores when I was a kid for trying those out. Owned one for a short time later, got rid of it. Now have a clone I built and really like. Excellent way to see who in the audience is paying attention. That pedal has the most amazing variety of subtle, horrid, sweet, frightening sounds in it. Tones range from fat, woolly fuzz to sputtering, screeching cacophony. Almost too versatile to decide how to set it. The one thing it doesn't do is volume boost, pretty much volume in is volume out. Edge has got one and uses it.
I have one of the reissues. Original sounding, and cool. What's awkward is that there's no volume control.
