I wanted to compare my three small bodied guitars in open position with a flatpick. In order they are: Collings C-10 - deep body - adi/mah; Martin 000-18GE - adi/mah; Collings OM - short scale - Koa/sitka. The guitars are in FGDGBE tunning. All three guitars have the same type strings and i tried to emphasize the low and high registers for comparison purposes. I really appreciate your feedback - it is great to hear from other players, thanks!

Nice shootout!

Collings definitely have the clarity and cut.

The Martin probably seems to have more warmth that's harder to capture in a video clip.

All sounded great, but I think I like the tone on the C-10 from the clip.

Very nice playing, for me, for that particular tune, I like the C-10, it just seems suited perfectly.
I almost bought a C-10 Deluxe a while ago, very nice guitar.

Hey Dale........nice playing! I too prefer the C-10 as the most 3 dimensional with best clarity. The Martin was more laid back and smoother but was only 1 dimensional and the OM was somewhere between the 2. The clarity and brilliance was so much better on the C-10 it's as if you had just put on new strings.......my guess is the strings on the Martin were the oldest with the OM next oldest?

I like the Collings as well although I think a Martin is in my near future.

Great playing too.

it is great to hear your commnents..........thanks so much! The C-10 is a deeper sounding guitar and a bit louder as well. The action is fast so if i set on it, it will rattle a bit as you could hear. But i punched it pretty hard for the video.

hope you guys are doing great and thanks again,
dale
