View Full Version : The First Actress You Had A Crush On?
I just spent half the evening trying to remember the name of my favorite
teenage hollywood hottie.
It's still a tough call between Elke Sommer, Julie Newmar and Barbara Eden.

For those of you Los Angelenos, around my age, I submit Cam Nelson, the teen model who used to dance and co-host on "The Groovy Show", back in the late 60s. Sigh.
I ran into Julie Newmar, back in my teens, as she was coming out of a pharmacy in the San Fernando Valley. Her skin was flawless and, literally, the color of milk. She looked like a goddess. Sigh.
These are what dreams are made of.

I was enthralled by Suzanne Pleshette. Curiously, my girlfriend of the period was an exact replica right down to the smokey voice. Goodness me, such a long time ago and bringing back fond memories. She was the best dancer ever. People would stop and watch us. She was always fueled by something, tho, even without my knowledge.

In terms of actresses I think Julie Newmar was probably first. Prior to that though I think I lost a little bit of heart to some of the girls I saw screaming for the Beatles in "A Hard Day's Night." That's probably a big part of my attraction to being a musician.

I had tons of posters of her. Lifesize and bigger. Also had lots of Cheryl Teigs, Suzanne Summers, Cheryl Ladd, etc. Walls were covered with hot chick posters, but Farrah won every time and still does.
Hey, I even dated her cousin, Jan Fawcett, while I was at the University of Texas. Farrah was voted most beautiful at Texas. Janis Joplin was voted ugliest man there!

I'm totally digging the love for Barbara Eden; remember her in the movie "Ride the Wild Surf"? And +1 for Julie Newmar--wow, the legs on that woman! In my 20s, I had a huge and ongoing crush on Susan Sarandon, starting with her great scenes in "Atlantic City", with the lemons. (Remember what Burt Lancaster says to her, in the scene where she gives herself to him?: "I even went to the market, just to look at lemons.")
It may have been our Neanderthal DNA, but something about Barbara Eden
saying "Master" had a nice ring to it.

Nastassia Kinski, having seen Polanski's "Tess". Saw the movie as a school outing and was smitten. Then when I saw Cat People I was very grateful for the pause button on the VCR!
And I have to agree with whoever put the pics of Ingrid Bergman up. As a teen seeing "Casablanca" for the first time I thought she was the most beautiful woman ever.
In recent years though I have been in love with Emmanuel Beart. She's the french actress (huge in France) who was in the first Mission Impossible film with Tom Cruise. Stunningly beautiful. Unfortunately I met her once and was less than blown away. Beautiful? Yes. But... sometimes it's best if you don't meet your idols...

Real Name: Natasha Fatale
Sex: Female
Occupation: Secret Agent
Home: Everywhere
Education: Expelled from college
Tag Line: Hello Dollink.
Biography: Natasha was a former Miss Transylvania. She is believed to be the love child of Axis Sally and Count Dracula, although nothing has been proven (blood work, yum). When she moved to the "New World" at age 19, she had a part time modeling job with Charles Addams and another popping out of cakes at stag parties. Although Boris has asked for her hand many times, she refuses to part with it. "Its my hand dollink, he can get his own," said Ms. Fatale

Yeah, she was HOT in her 30's. I actually never saw the show until after I met her. She had a collection of her stuff...lunchboxes, pictures, etc. One day John Travolta called her while I was there. She knew the guys in Poison and wanted me to move to LA so she could hook me up.
Coolest thing was we ran into my ex-wife. Kathy asked my ex what she did and my ex told me she acted in local plays. Then my ex asked what Kathy did and Kathy told her all the shows she had been on, then my ex started screaming once she recognized Kathy. I guess she had been a BIG fan and she couldn't believe I was dating her. I loved that moment!! :D

Too cool to admit you were a fan of SNF when it was out? I loved Karen Lynn Gorney!

And I could have sworn Victoria Principal was on the original Battlestar Galactica wearing those tight, tan pants. I had a BG trading card with her (or someone) on it that I was lusting over for a long time. But for the life of me I can't find any reference to her having been on that show or who was on the show that I might have been crushing on, so maybe it was someone else. I'm pretty sure it wasn't Jayne Seymour (though she was hot too).

Gale Storm
"My Little Margie"
"Oh, Susanna"
I was only about three, but I still had an eye for the ladies.
Honorable mention, as she was probably my first celebrity crush, although I don't think she was an actress, Alice Long, who was Lawrence Welk's 'champagne lady' when I was two.
Another vote for Gale Storm. I actually spoke with her on the phone a few years ago when I worked in the call center of an mail-order company (tempory gig). She was very nice and seemed surprised I knew who she was.
It's all her fault!!!

As far as actresses it was a toss up all of the original Charlies Angels.

Capucine -
Unfortunately, there just aren't that many good photos of her. I will never forget how taken I was with her stunning beauty. I was born in 1960, but even back then I was a victim of dark eyed women. Forget blonde's with big boobs, I will take a slinky brunette any day. :AOK

I already posted Marilyn Monroe; since I was a wee little guy I've been in love with her. I turned 13 in 1980 so here are some actresses (as they were) that were my first crushes at that time other than Marilyn Monroe:
Brooke Sheilds (I got to go to "Blue Lagoon" and umm, it was QUITE a movie for me as a 13 year old)
http://www.fashionrat.com/images/brooke-shields-calvin-klein1.jpg
Cheryl Ladd:
I was another owner of the ever present Farrah poster; but Cheryl Ladd was *my* Angel:

My dark crazy nerdy-chick crush:
Ally Sheedy

and of course *my* favorite redhead:
Molly Ringwald:

Princess Leia (Carrie Fisher) in the slave costume KILLED me:
http://www.fashion-victims.org/wp-content/uploads/2008/05/princess-leia-bikini.jpg
and Phoebe Cates? Who could EVER forget?
http://ericfleming.files.wordpress.com/2006/11/phoebe_cates_fast_times.jpg
She was the girlfriend in "Karate Kid" and the lead in "Adventures in Babysitting" and I've had a crush on her ever since:
Elizabeth Shue

That was the other one that I couldn't quite remember. She even made the Posiden Adventure watchable. So many bit parts here and there that I would alway try to come up with a reason to watch. Even though it meant watching some show my parents couldn't understand why I was interested.
I even loved the sound of her voice...I can still hear it in my head...*sigh*
