There's one tone I miss on my PRS Swamp Ash, the neck single coil alone.

Is there a way to add this option on that guitar without messing much with it? How?

Mine is the older model with the 3-way toggle switch.

Sounds like you need to have a coil tap added which can be done a number of ways.

Are the pickups 4 or 2 conductor?

If they are only 2 conductor IE: braided wire and hot you cannot have that unless you add a 4 conductor neck pickup.

If you do have 4 wires from each pickup you need to decide how you want to access the single coil sound. Do you want a switch that taps the coil? Do you want a push pull pot or do you want to do my favorite on those kind of guitars? that is wiring the tone control so when its on 10 you are in full humbicking territiry but if you back it down to 9 you have a split coil.

I love that on 2 HB guitars(that have 4 wires per PU)

Pickups are 4 conductor.

It is not a 2 humbucker guitar. The SAs have 2PRS McCarty humbuckers with a Seymour Duncan Vintage Rails (I think) in the middle.

All stock, it has a 3 way toggle that opperates like a normal 2-humbucker guitar but reconfigures itself when you pull the tone knob. Tone knob up gives split neck + middle; split neck + middle + split bridge; middle + split bridge.

Your suggested method sounds very cool! I'd like to know how it's done and I may do that mod on my 2 humbucker guitars but I'm affraid I can mess with the SA's already complex wiring.

All of it's pickup settings are cool and usefull, but it would've been perfect for me if the all-three-single-coils combo could be replaced by the split neck alone - not necessarily at the same switch position.
