For you TA owners out there,
I just bought a TA on ebay (not here yet) and noticed the bridge looks like a Fishman piezo bridge. I asked the seller and he says it's not a piezo. What is the deal with these bridges? Here is a pic. Thanks!

I believe Tom switched from Gotoh to Fishman bridges a few years back. You can someone over at the TA forum, I'm sure they'd know.
Is that the one that was on eBay Saturday AM? I nearly pulled the trigger on that one. I would have except I'm saving for another geetar right now. Great score on a great guitar - enjoy!

Not sure what you are asking.
The Fishman bridge would look just like that-----except it would say Fishman across the top.
I think at one time, Fishman made all TA bridges (peizo, or not). I don't believe that is the case anymore.
Beautiful guitar by the way!

Thanks guys! Yup, it's the one I snagged Sat AM on the 'bay. Just too good of a price to let it pass. I've been looking for a gigging axe that had a strat-like pickup config (at least the bridge & mid) but a different body style. I just can't play a Fender strat, that volume knob cramps my style.
I wasn't aware Fishman made bridges that weren't piezo. Shows what I know. I just wanted to make sure that I wouldn't get a (nice) surprise of plugging in a stereo cable & getting acoustic tones. Thanks again fellas.

i believe that's correct. for a time, almost of the bridges tom used on non-floyd guitars were fishman. not all of them were piezo.

If that's my old guitar (TV1, VA1, TV3) you will have fun with it. That VA1 is a killer pup. It wasn't a piezo IIRC at least I never used it that way.
My current HTC (05) has the piezo. Cool trick is to pull the cable out 1 click and you get both mag and piezo pup's working with tone and vol control. Pull the cable two clicks and you get all piezo, but no tone or vol control.
