i like the value of the classic vibe strat, but for better parts, i like JV strat more.

A used JV will only be a little more and it's MUCH better....

Unless you like a gym floor finish on a neck!

The neck on the Jimmie Vaughan is exquisite.

Lot of labor into the fretwork on the Classic Vibe, but I'm not taken in.

Much prefer my two Jimmie Vaughans with many parts shared with my CS '60 Strat. The body shape of the Jimmie Vaughan could be more like the Eric Johnson, and better pickups. Well, there'll always be another, better set of them, right?

The Jimmie Vaughan is one of the best values out there. Especially used. I read in an interview once that Jimmie actually uses it on the road (although he still records with his old one). About the only demerit (if you consider it such) is the body is made of maybe too many pieces of wood (remember a lot of the old ones were made of two or three pieces as well). But the neck and hardware are very nice. The pickups I found okay, but I'd replace them if I had one.

If I hear that the Classic Vibe is as good or better than the JV, I'm in. I agree that the JV is an outstanding value in Strat's.

I can't speak for the classic vibe but I play the crap out of my JV. Great neck, good hardware and you have a tone control on the bridge pup. It works for me. YMMV

I wouldn't trade my Jimmie Vaughan Strat for half a dozen Classic Vibes...

Never had a JV (someday).....everyone raves about 'em. Just picked up a 50's CV Strat and am loving it. Hella value.

I have both, JV neck is well worth the price of admission
The classic vibe 50's is nicer to me than the 60's, awesome value for 299.00
there is a nice red JV in the for sale section

my next strat has to be a burst.. thats the only reason why I sold my partscaster.. yeah I know petty.... but I only play a strat 25% of the time and I enjoy a nice burst
