These have been home invasions for the most part. One of the victims is the son of Rob Paparozi. This was a particularly brazen act and several of his friends were beaten in the process.
For those who may not know of his father, Rob, he's an extraordinary harp player, singer and has fronted for Blood Sweat and Tears..
What is this world coming too??:BITCH
Yes, this sucks and everyone who is in the vicinity should have their valuable gear insured. I know Rob, he's a great guy, and it's a bummer that this happened to his son, but I think this is a sign of things to come. We should all be vigilant about keeping our gear secure, but most importantly, our loved ones and ourselves.

This is especially aggravating because it is obvious these guys don't know the quality of the stiuff they are taking. It sounds like one of the guitars was just a Squire strat, and others were only a little better.
Obviously these guys:
Have a market for the instruments
Have been told that instruments are easy to move so they are fairly liquid goods
Have a strategy for targeting this type of product.
I say we find them and admnister a little tough love.

Rob's son lost a Gretsch Black Falcon (~ $3000) and a Tennessee Rose (~$2000), so their hitting some expensive instruments as well.

In this economy, I'm afraid that that this type of thing will only get worse until things get turned around.

Yep, I feel the same way you do and agree with your analysis.
In the case of Rob Paparozi's son, I have the feeling these scumbags knew he had some high end gear. They took the guitars and supposedly left other electronic equipment behind.:FM
