Need help...Vox AC30cc1 has little bass

I dont know how to put it other than it simply doesnt have much low end...ive been playing on both channels, bass knob cranked, and im just not getting the bass i think i should...ive had the amp, second hand, for 6 months, retubed it and its even been to the shop once for a spent internal fuse...i put it next to my fender DRRI and the difference is quite noticeable...im using a les paul standard and a gibson chet atkins sst


any thoughts would be appreciated...

Well... if you happen to have it on an amp stand, that'll subtract quite a lot of bass. Put it on the floor, and the bass will magically re-appear. I hope it is as simple as that, for you.

I have a CC1, and the amp character is more on the thin/bright end of the spectrum, so it may just be a matter of expectation. Other than that, I could recommend speaker and tube changes, but you have to get into the ballpark before you play that game.
