It has two channels, treble and bass controls for each channel, a funky wattage meter, a Jensen P15N, RCA 6l6's, 5U4, 3-12AX7, 12AU7 and its cathode biased with trem and no reverb.

Maybe an old Danelectro or equivalent. More and better pics may help.

+1 could be also Slivertone.

Silvertone would be my best guess as well, but if anyone knows the exact make / model that would be great! It really amazes the shear quality of amps of this vintage. You would pay a fortune for an amp built like this now…

Looks like a Harmony from Japan. Check for markings on the caps. They look like the grey oil filled caps used in Univox's,Harmony's,Zenon's,etc and would say Japan on them.

Thanks! The caps didn't look like anything I've seen before. I'll take a look at them this afternoon.

Talked with a friend of mine, he thinks it might be a Canadian amp of some kind.

The knobs have a Danelctro look to them. If it has shitty small output and power transformers then its probably a Silvertone or Danelctro. They seemed to scrimp in this area from what I've seen (and repaired/rebuilt). It is positively oozing 1950's vibe.

Actually there is some serious iron in this thing… I was really surprised.

Being it has large tranny's it could also be an early Sano amp, made in NJ.

Good catch. The first thing that caught my eye were the grey caps.

What does it say on those grey colored caps? Also, check for any codes on the transformers.

I havent had a chance to check out the caps but I may be able to this afternoon. Thanks
Looks like a Sano to me. They're the only company I recall using that funky grille cloth.
Cool amp man!

I havent done a cap job yet and the cone has a ton of holes in it but the amp still sounds fantastic!!!
It's a nice looking old Alnico speaker in there! If it falls apart, or the holes cause too much of a problem, I'd definitely have Ted Weber recone it for you instead of replacing it. I bet it does sound great.

That's exactly who and what I'm going to do... Although I'm seriously considering learning how to do recones.

Actually there was another amp company out of NJ, named Hilgen, that also used that "swirling" grillcloth. On the recone, I would have Weber do it and use a 50 watt voice coil and break it in for you.

Sano - an Ampeg precursor?

Interesting, There must've been a NJ fabric store that was clearing that funky stuff out back in the day LOL

Some folks say that Sano, and Ampeg were involved with each other, but I think I remember reading somewhere that that was not the case. I really have no idea.
