i have a set of single ended amp transformers. worth using?
they are a 125DSE output transformer and a 269EX power transformer. What could i make with these? or are these junk and whatever i make should start from scratch. a cool single ended amp using an el84 or a 6v6, solid state rectified, with just a vol or vol/tone would be cool.

The 269EX PT has only 190v centre tapped voltage on hand, for about 266v after rectification. It would make for a quiet single ended 6v6 amp.The 125DSE can handle lots of current so that's not an issue.
I would get a 272HX PT and build a parallel single ended tweed princeton with two 6V6's.Tube rectified or solid state. You choose.

a quiet 6v6 or el84 amp would be perfect. i'll look into the tweed princeton and see what else i have sitting around vs. need to purchase. my original thought was to get a nice low wattage 5 watter with either a cool distortion, or a real ugly distortion like you'd get out of those old sears amps. who knows. maybe ill just find a starting point and go for it.

You won't get 5 watts out of 266v.You need to get it up to 350v or so,that's why I suggested the larger PT.As is you would be lucky to get 3 watts.
But.....it could be a really nice sounding 3 watts.

You could get creative and make something with a pair of 6Y6's.

You might think about going SEP. A pair of EL84's or 6V6's in parallel, for simplicity stick to solid state rectifier. That OT will work very well for that type of single ended amp and you should get by ok the the PT.

Yep, and you can generally get perfect NOS 6Y6's very cheap.

3-4W can be a heck of a lot of fun in a nice combo with a 10 or 12" speaker. Plus, do not kid yourself, 3-4W can be very loud.

thanks for the suggestions guys. i've decided to put the OT in the drawer for a while. im "attempting" to build a matchless vibrobox/hotbox in a single headshell with it. so ill have a tube preamp and tube trem in a headbox to boost other heads or possibly run into a poweramp. trying to figure out footswitching and attempt a layout that looks like it'll be neat and clean.

Take a look at the projects available at AX84.com. Lots of great possibilities and a great support community.

these parts are from an ax84 build. i tried the p1 and the hi octane. didnt like either. for some reason, a single ended amp with vol, treb, mid, bass, master vol, and presence just felt overly complicated to me.
