View Full Version : Locking tremelo in a Strat.

My Strat is a USA Highway 1 Fender Strat. I'm guessing the tremelo is the standard non-locking type?
How might one lock such a tremelo?
Are replacement locking temelos a simple "drop in" affair?

No, not like that.
Floyd Rose designs are the most accepted, and they work. It requires a couple hours of labor to install by someone qualified.

I have a friend of mine who installed a Wilkinson/Gotoh VS-100n tremolo bridge & locking Sperzel tuners on his American Standard Strat. Here is the link for the Wilkinson VS-100N bridge:
You might also want to consider putting a graphite nut on the neck as well.
