When playing my amp a couple of days ago I heard an unfamiliar rustling sound for about 10 seconds which sounded like the preamp tube may be playing up.The next time I turned the amp on I noticed that the overall sound was less punchy than I remembered. Played the amp for a while and didn't use it for a couple of days. Next time I turned it on - nothing.The pilot light worked and I could hear background noise coming through the speaker but no guitar sound.
Could the tube have failed? It is an Electro Harmonix 12AX7 which is used in the Valvetronix series as an output tube. Just wanting to know if anyone else has experienced this before I go out and search the stores for a replacement tube.
