Has anyone A/B'd the circuit of the '65 Princeton reissue with the original? I started to do that with the 2 schematics last night before I got sidetracked. Has anyone gone through both schematics to see how close they are? I got maybe 1/5 through it and they seemed pretty close, with the exception of a voltage here or there.

A few of us compared my '65 with a reissue a few weeks ago. All thought that the vintage one sounded better, but personally I think a lot of that was due to the speaker differences. Both are nice amps.

Thanks Bryan. Yes, I agree, both are nice amps, and I would not be surprised if the vintage one had a leg up. But I'm more curious about the actual circuit differences than a subjective listening. Purely technical here.
Thanks

What does the RI have for phase inverter and rectifier tubes?. There were two versions of blackface, one with 12AT7 PI and 5U4 rec tube, and another with 12AX7 PI and 5AR4 rectifier. I have the less common 12AX7/5AR4 version of the circuit in my original '65 PR.

It has the same as your amp, a 12ax7 PI and a GZ34 (5AR4) rectifier.
