Here's a clip which highlights closed vs. open back tonal changes. I did not change anything other then removing the piece of wood laying against the open section of the cabinet. In the clip I describe what the plan was, I recorded it like I said I would on the clip, closed first then roughly the same exact thing with the board removed.

I did not change the amp settings or anything on the guitar. For the last section I used an Ethos overdrive so you could hear the difference with gain.

Amp - Matchless Clubamn
Cabinet -Avatar Vintage 1x12 with a Scumback H75 LHDC
Guitar - Vinetto SC50
Effect - Ethos Overdrive with boost on gain channel (last on only)

The clip is called "closed vs. open"

Hopefully, a clip like this really points out the huge change in sealing acabinet, I was surprised as I was recording I liked the sealed far more but listening back it's about a 50/50 split.

I like them equally too, but man the tone out of that Ethos is really something.

Glad you dig it. Once I got that one I sold the TIM and KOT, in the end I ended up making money and reducing board space. The additional upside is if my amp ever should go down I have a built in speaker simulator so I can go direct.

I'm having a hard time with the cab situation, playing in front of the speaker I like the closed back but with the recorded stuff I prefer the open back a little more.

I prefer the open, it just sounds more...open.
