So long story short,

Got a new rectifier, tried to match it with stock power tubes, fuse would go out right as I turned off standby (after warming amp up). Tube dealer and I suspected that even though the stock rectifier and stock power tubes are working great together (no blown fuses)

Got new power tubes and it seem to fix the problem. About two weeks in, my amp shuts off and my fuse is blown again...Bad rectifier tube?

Amp in question is EZG-50
Takes a GZ34 rectifier (I have JJ 5AR4 in there now, stock tube was Sovtek 5AR4)
Power tubes 6L6GC (stock tubes 6L6 GE)

Now I am trying to determine if I have a bad rectifier tube or not. I only use it at home at the moment.

amp worked fine

you installed a new rectifier, amp started blowing fuses

another JJ GZ-34 suffers from infant mortality. I'll guess it arcs internally when the fuse blows

:agree

Add the load of aging caps causing extra current draw, a bit of typical flyback on a poorly designed tube. recipe for disaster.

I just sent back 3 brand new JJ's this morning, 2 dead shorted, and one that has no filament!
When they work(more than 2 hours) generally they are great, its just getting a good one that is troublesome.
