In used to know but forgot the value. My pro reverb has bad ticking when the tremolo is on.

Thanks

It's a capacitor: http://www.harpamps.com/micKfender/Vibrato-Tick-Svc-Bltn-9.html

You may want to consider changing out the "bug" vactrol with a PerkinElmer while you're in there.....

What will that do?

I put a .01 green mylar cap in parallel with the 10 meg resistor last night and it fixed the problem.

My 70 SF super reverb doesnt do it at all but the pro ticked bad. It was the last year before they went to master volume. both have been blackfaced but its very evident that fender had lower standards as time went on.

The "bug" is constructed by hand...the LED and photoresistor facing each other are placed into shrink tubing by hand...which can cause variences of space between the two. This will have an effect of their function...some will be more prominent...others not. A enclosed machine-constructed vactrol like the PerkinElmer have very tight tolerances and in such will provide a strong, effective function. The difference in performance is well worth the few dollars spent.
