I've been reading a lot on this forum about these two vibes and listening to clips on youtube etc... Can anyone who has played both pedals give me their objective impressions WRT the sound and how well they both play with other pedals?
As far as I can tell, the Lovepedal can at least get that nice swirly sound that I personally associate with Dark Side of the Moon. I have also heard other vibes used in live situations and on Machinegun where the throb is quite intense, and this is an important factor for me in choosing a vibe.
So, if someone who has played both can give their impressions whether or not the Luna is worth the extra cost and footprint, I would be very appreciative.
Thanks!

I haven't played the Lovepedal...but I've played three different Luna's and have compared them to an original Univibe. Not a lot of people have played the Luna yet. I'm sharing my experiences with it because they are getting built in small quanties and just begining to reach the market.
The Luna has a more complex tone than the Univibe. It can do the basic tones of the Univibe but adds an extra phaseyness to the sound that the Univibe doesn't have. It' not really fair to call the Luna a vibe pedal. The Luna has much more swirl to it. The best way I can describe it is that the Univibe tones go around and around like a Leslie speaker spinning...the Luna also goes around and around but it also goes back and forth and in and out. Hard to describe in words but that is what is does.
If you buy the Luna thinking it will be a Univibe clone you will be disapointed...you may not even like the tone at first if you just want a vibe...but you will warm up to it...and then you will understand how good it really sounds!
One of the features I really like about the Luna is you can set the maximum speed of the vibe you want an then use the control pedal to ramp up and down to just that maximum speed you set! If you want nothing but slow to medium vibe that's all you get...you get full sweep of the control pedal without going into a fast vibe territory. It's really fun to be able to use the entire sweep of the pedal to control just the amount of vibe you want.
Here's a pic of the 1st one I demo'd...It was just labeled Vibe at that time...

I hooked up the Phase 90 with the Univibe to see if I could duplicate the Luna's back and forth and in and out tones but it didn't match the complexity of the Luna.
Here's two vid's of the 2nd one I just demo'd a week back...it's a custom stereo version...it belongs to another TPG member...we are using the control pedal.

Disclosure: Yes, I'm a big fan of Brad's products...and Robert, the Luna's designer and builder, is a really cool genuis!
I would say the Luna is worth the extra cost and footprint.

Hey! So, is the MojoHandLuna really a 'vibe? I know that the Lovepedal does not contain the lightbulb & photocells, but what about Luna?
And is there a waiting list????

Yep, that was my Luna (and my finger in the video). I've played Bruce's original Uni-Vibe and I have yet to really hear a pedal duplicate it. The Luna seems to add another dimension to the swirl and sounds great. It's really hard to capture it's essence on a YouTube video, it should be tried out in person. I know there was one for sale recently, not sure if it's still available. I really dig mine, the only mod I requested was having a dual out with a toggle to select dry/wet or wet/wet.

The Luna rules. I dig it's unique character.
