Has no certificate... This is what I got back after asking him if he had the COA.

"I do not. I'm the second owner (bought 6 yrs ago). It appears this was a special run by the Custom Shop for a music store (usually 6 to 12 guitars). The matching color Fender case suggests that. They will not do that for just one guitar.

Thanks - JIM"

I'm leery bc of all the scams I hear about, and if its even worth getting a custom shop axe without the cert. It sounds like what I'm looking for slimmer neck 12" radius... I don't really wanna roll the dice any ideas if its legit?

It's not a Custom Shop guitar. Well maybe it is. But it doesn't seem like it to me.

Call Fender with the serial. Cool looking.

I agree it looks cool, BUT fender said that serial belongs to a 75 jazz bass. uh oh...

I have no idea about the authenticity of that guitar, but the logo on the back of the headstock was in fact the earlier custom shop logo. Not sure what year they stopped using it.

I do wonder about the COA thing as proof--it seems to me that a COA would be easier to fake than an actual guitar.
